“Service vehicle soon” sign on a less than a month old 2024 Flash with 1400 miles

I have gotten the U0111 twice in my Mach-E. It just a temporary glitch where communication is lost to the BECM. Both times, a restart cleared the error and a was able to drive normally. There was a BECM update available that the dealer applied (along with others) and it hasn’t happened since.

The interesting thing is that in the Mach-E, the message was “Stop Safely Now” which is much more urgent than “Service vehicle soon“ for the same code.

Thanks for that. Would really love for that to be the root issue.

i considered just clearing the error via ODB and seeing if it happens again. But i have to admit im a bit gun shy of doing that in an EV.

That's normal when you're in accessory mode, doesn't guarantee the condition / health of your 12v LVB

FWIW, my error message went away after a key cycle without clearing the DTC.

Unfortunately mine has not. Several cycles. Short drive. Still there.

still running at full power tho. And charges normally to 95%.

Maybe get a 10 mm wrench and disconnect the negative cable for 10 minutes? Worth a try anyway

I’d check codes again, and if there are no newer occurrences of the U0111, go ahead and clear it. If the communication error is still there, the code will come back. If it was just a glitch, you should be OK.

ODB scanner cleared the code but was not able to clear the light on cluster. Gonna swing by dealer and let them read it.

20 miles in and normal operation so far.

Error is gone out of FordPass app also.

I guess I’m just going to roll for a while and see if it comes back up.
