I dont wanna be that guy that remotely detonates his truck, thus I still have not pressed it. ? Thank goodness @GDN is taking the lead for our blend date, now detonation, i mean activation is pending... ??
Maybe not blow up the truck, but I'm sure Ford prints out a report of those trying activation and says send them to the back of the line. All I can say is if they don't want it pushed, don't give it to me.

I'm just wondering - if we are only waiting on something like wiper or rear camera parts whey they wouldn't ship the trucks to dealers - get that few weeks of waiting behind them. Then ship the parts overnight and pay the dealers to install them?

I'm sure that brings up all kinds of potential issues, should something else go wrong, but the risk would have to be very low.

I wonder if the lightning uses the same contactors. I'm thinking the might use different ones due to the different size batteries.
If not, we might have an extra month wait. "Ford says the problem can be fixed with an over-the-air software update, which will be issued “next month.” Mustang Mach-E owners can also take their vehicles to a Ford or Lincoln dealership for a more immediate software fix"

I'm always early on these things. Did the Mach-e first edition and that was delayed. I did a FE Bronco that was supposed to be ready in July 2021, didnt get it until December, was at dirt mountain for months waiting on a new hard top. First run F150 lightning and here we are again. This time around, I am stress free and not worried much lol. It will show up soon enough. If you havent experienced all this waiting from Ford yet, it seems like its part of the deal nowadays. Wish we knew the whole story, but least we have some information about their progress. Good luck to all!

not just different size batteries, but the lightning uses different cooling since the truck is designed to tow and have higher heat tolerances. So this may very well be a non-issue since it seems to be overheating related.

I’m pretty sure that’s what Ford with the ICE F150’s to move them along. I’d rather have my truck at the dealership than at some rando lot in Dearborn with the hundreds of other Lightnings.

I’m with you on this…the story of “chip hold” could mean “defect found during QC and needs replacement vs. “chip shortage” vs “installation defect found during QC “ vs …………who knows……

I too would be interested in the backstory, but I’m happy for those who have received their trucks & are kind enough to educate me on what to expect, hopeful for those (all of you) still waiting who are educating me on the build/delivery process, and hopeful to receive mine someday soon while those that are waiting just to order theirs for a 2023+ delivery?

It could be worse………..?

Mach E battery is made by LG, Lightning battery is by SK.

Unfortunately that’s pretty much my expectation as well (5/26 blend). Any ability to predict a delivery date has gone out the window with the chip shortage. Maybe August if we’re lucky?

Article I just read said the recall affected all Mach E's made before May 24th; isn't that the same day mods stopped popping within 24 hrs?

The dealer said there is no way to tell and Ford doesn't offer any indication.

There are ICE F150 guys with trucks sitting in a lot that have been there since January, so...
