2023 Lightning Pro steering Left switchpack problem.

2023 lightning pro bought from copart auction. Hello, new to forum. I am trying to replace my left side steering switch pack. called dealer, they said i have to buy all new steering wheel assy for they dont have part# just for switch. I took mine off and gave a part # of my switch and they dont Know if it matches my truck VIN. I suspect, someone before me swapped both rh and lh swithpacks because they were loose.and now I dont think I have correct pt#s by reading off of them. My scanner gave me a code U2101-00-0A. Basically a compatibiloty issue with left buttons. My vin is 1FTVW1EL7PWG07081. Please help!!!

Can you take a picture of your LH switch pack and share? It's possible the previous owner added ACC/LKA to your Pro and the truck is having an issue with the new button cluster.

I called another dealership, and they said to buy whole steering wheel assy. pt# ML3Z-3600-KA. Funny because there is a part# on just a switch itself

Post a picture of the FRONT of the switch.

I also doubt you need a new steering wheel. Dealer is clueless on this case because it sounds like the previous owner modded the truck.

I agree with @BennyTheBeaver , this sounds like someone added Adaptive Cruise and Lane Keeping to your Pro and likely undid the ForScan changes and returned the truck to stock, but did not put the original switch back.

You 100% can replace the switch without replacing the steering wheel, or you can keep the switch you have and make the ForScan changes to either let the switch function or turn on the adaptive cruise if that actually was added.

Look through this thread for the common mod of adding adaptive cruise and lane keeping to a Pro or XLT trim. Replacing that switch is part of the mod.

Take a picture of the front of your current switch. You may be able to use it.

I won't be able to look for my old switch until later today which might have the part number on it.

I just looked up your part number for a picture of your switch. You can 100% use this switch. The PO probably installed ACC for you too!

You can fix your error with forscan by enabling your current switch. It will probably be a lot easier and less costly then installing the original switch.

If you want to investigate and see if adaptive cruise was installed, then you will definitely want to keep your current switch and activate the adaptive cruise.

P.S.
A dealer won't touch this. It looks like your previous owner did some modifications. The dealer will 100% push this back on you.

Yep, that switch is for ACC. On another note, the number on parts that looks like a part # isn't actually, it's an engineering number.

thank you again for this information. I was blown away when I saw all the changes made to a truck's build sheet. I will consult with my russian automotive computer wizzard to help me figure this out.
