I have owned EVs for over 4 years now and I am aware on how to get good range. Having said all that I cannot get above a 2.1/M avg on my Lightning... Is it really effected by weather that badly? Today drove from Indianapolis to home 150 miles.... average speed set on cruise control was 56 mph, Average outside temp was 48f when I left and I had my inside truck temp set at 65f speed 1. My tires are slightly overinflated to 46psi. I feel like I should be getting better than 2.1 average... whats going on... is this expected ? Side note, I swear I hear what sounds like a slight brake pad is constantly on or a rubbing noise, Is that normal or possibly my issue?

Rated 240 miles range is mixed freeway+local aorund 70F. With 56 mph around 50-60F 2.1 gives you close to 210 miles range which is normal. You should get 2.4 easily when it is warmer.

My little 2017 Fiat 500e its EPA range is 80, when its summer and my driving style I get around 110-120 or about 5miles/kwh. During normal winter around 60.... this was what I was expecting with the Ford but so far it seems like most say that the EPA is basically the high end.

EPA range is EPA rated, nothing more than that. Eventually the range depnds on a lot of factors, battery size, truck weight, truck shape, temperature, speed, wind, etc.

A lot of EV's has longer range in real world than EPA but not tesla nor Lightning.

You were expecting like 5 miles per kilowatt hour in the summer, driving a Lightning?

No.. Lol... just that I was going to be able to beat EPA estimates.... I figured hopefully in the 3.0 range max, come summer Ill see. Just feel like 1.5-2.1 max seems low 2.1 is only when I pull out all the stops basically.

Getting 3.0 with a Mach-E is avg. Truck is 40% worse. 2.4 maybe.

If you have a brake pad rubbing excessively, it should have been really hot after your 150 mile drive.

I average about 2.5 mi/kwh in good temps and very conservative driving, in a mix of highway, interstate, and city driving... but if 'only' on the interstate for many miles, I wouldn't expect that same number... and if only around the 'city', I would expect a good bit more... mostly flat terrain and little 'wind', too...

If you have an 'issue', yes, it could be something slowing you down... a brake caliper that is 'stuck' could be the culprit...

I think some drivers pay attention sometimes too much to the 'guess o meter', as well, thinking that what it is 'saying' is fact, when it is just an estimation. Many times my range meter says "you have only 200 miles of range", when in fact I arrive nicely at home after driving 240 miles... the starting 'value' is generally too conservative. Sometimes WAY too conservative, especially if you know you are already a conservative driver...
When towing, this is of utmost importance, to inhibit range anxiety. I use my 'known' mi/kwh average, and not what the range estimate may show... 1.4 mi/kwh translates to maybe 138 miles, although the range estimator may only show "99 miles"...

I have a XLT SR I get around 2.1 to 2.2 in those temperatures so normal.

Like someone said already you getting close to the 240... When the temperature get around 70Ish I get from Mobile, Alabama to Hattiesburg, Mississippi on US-98 going a little over the speed limit 68 I get 2.4 to 2.6

So around 240Ish range in spring

Its a truck with crappy aerodynamics

I average 2.8 to 3.1 city driving only. South Florida very mild winter (60 is about as cold as it gets)
If I take it on the interstate it’s a different truck. Average 1.6-1.8

I have edited my navigation to remove interstates from routes. This move has exponentially improved efficiency. I will still hop on the interstate if needed, but if it only adds a couple of minutes, I prefer to get better efficiency.

I have a 23 SR Pro. I average 2.1 m/kwh. So this is normal. Its a Truck! My Hyundai Kona would get 4.5 m/kwh in the same driving conditions.

I tend to agree with Helliian. 2.1 is great! For what it's worth, here is a pick of my average (1.7) after owning the Lariat ER for exactly a year. I have never reset this trip meter. I do pull items about 10% of the time. Always in a heated garage, so no need to precondition. Most trips are just a mile to work and back, and on weekends, to the lake at 61 mph for around 180 miles. I rarely get over 2, but it is colder in Iowa and usually windy.
