After posting my information, I thought about the fact that SSV's might have unique build timeframes, so the real test of appropriate model year is the tenth character of your VIN's@TaxmanHog was referring to the "vehicles" with trim level shown in your profile. Here's mine for reference.
oooo, didn't know the public could order that. Thought it was police only.Special vehicle package.
Most likely a municipality lost out on funding due to budget cuts and canceled their order.oooo, didn't know the public could order that. Thought it was police only.
Mine is black. Its an amazing difference driving with the ssv package. I have been road racing mustangs for along time so having a great handling truck is fun.
Only difference suspension wise I can find is heavier duty front socks on the police package ssv.
I tried but the person wasn't "getting it" over the phone. There is another dealership on my way to work and I will stop by there on Monday and talk with them in person and hopefully get a plan to upgrade. Not in parts, I'm in repair. Tell them they need to look it up for a Lightning PRO SSV. There's two different struts depending on battery.
The valving is likely different but it won't do anything for lift, that's what the springs do.
Yes I agree the front shocks on my 23 xlt where way to soft.. I will send you my vin.Hello. I called a local Ford dealer and talked with the parts dept. and he could not find anything for the suspension stuff. I HATE the front dampers and would likely do the quick switch to SSV package, at least in the front.
I think I would need a VIN or something for a truck with the package for them to find it?
Not sure...
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike Lillejord.
