Unless I am missing something, by not including the rain sensing sensor on the windshield, BlueCruise cannot function in the rain if the driver does not have the wiper going at a setting it likes.
I tested this out today and engaged bluecruise but left the wipers off and sure enough bluecruise told me to prepare to take over as soon as the windshield got covered in rain.
I had hoped that although not specified, that they would have included it in the add-on package since BC would essentially need to clear the cameras to function and not require user intervention, but no.

FWIW even with rain sensors if rain or salt grime is significant, BlueCruise will ask to take over. This system is not meant to be in full control in those kinds of poor visibility conditions.

Blue cruise is a driver assist not driver replacement. If you can't see out the windshield you aren't prepared to take over.

Are you saying you were hoping blue cruise would continue working when the windshield was obscured with rain or are you saying you hoped by adding on blue cruise it would have also included rain sensing wipers?

When I was just a youngster, I remember a neighbor that got a new truck. It had the newest game changing option. A windshield washer. I was amazed at the technology.

Our family still had to pull over periodically to use snow to clean salt of the windshield since we did not have the latest and greatest.

Vehicles have come a long way.

Remember the black rubber windshield washer foot pumps down by the high beam switch on the floor?

Autosensing would be nice, but I haven’t missed it on my Lariat. And love BC!

I’ve BC’d in the rain and snow in a 510A SR Lariat with no issue other than the cameras not being able to see the lanes and doing the right thing and kicking it back to manual. Really very smart system.

i'm saying that it is really an oversight to add that caveat over a $20 sensor. it really should have the ability to clean the windshield when it needs it, not rely on me. so i expected that like the ICE version, that if your 510 was equipped with the $2200 package, it would add rain sensors. not sure why you would create this situation from a product development perspective..

if i am in the minority, then this thread can die.

I've always assumed that the windshield camera is the reason I get an automatic wipe when starting the truck if there is dew on the windshield.

No that's just the truck waving good morning to you
I used to call the Courtesy Wipe feature on my Fusion the Courtesy Scratch. I hate to see wipers run across a dry windshield. I have it shut off in my Lightning and it still does the One & Done Wipe most mornings when there is dew or frost.

Those old foot pumps are still the best “intermittent” wiper function around!
