Pulling into my driveway the other night, probably not going more than 5 MPH, my cruise control engaged
Sorry this happen and glad you could stop in time.

When you turn on Cruise Control it should not activate under 15 mph.

However, pushing the Resume button may have a lower mph threshold.

When I am done using Cruise Control I try to remember to turn it off to avoid accidentally touching the Resume button.

From the manual p279:

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. Like most of you, I had just considered this all user error and dismissed it from my mind until this afternoon.

With one pedal engaged, I was trying to cross a four lane divided highway from a stop sign. The car in the right lane approaching me slowed down to make a right and I thought I was clear. However, there was a car speeding in the left lane that I could not see as I pulled out. I had to hit the breaks hard and I came to a stop, close to entering the left lane but stopping short of it. The car stopped as well, but right in front of me. Not great by me, but at least an accident was avoided.
Now the driver of the vehicle was mean-mugging me and as I reduced the pressure on the brake pedal (foot not completely off) the truck lunged forward. I quickly slammed down hard on the break and now stopped incredibly close to the car. This incidental lunge gave the driver the impression I was playing a game by almost ramming him. It was a tense situation that was almost escalated into full-blown Miami road rage. Fortunately, the driver drove off but not before his elderly mother rolled down the window in the back seat to flick me off and yell obscenities.

I thought I was crazy. Did I hit the brake correctly? Yes I came to a complete stop and hard. Was my foot partially on the accelerator? No, my foot cannot be square on the brake and be remotely close enough to the accelerator. I’m not sure what happened, but left shook. Maybe I’ll start driving with one-pedal off.

While I think I somewhat follow your 'path', I do find it hard to understand how having One-Pedal deployed that the truck would then move, on it's own, AFTER having come to a complete stop. One-Pedal has 'Auto-Hold' built in, meaning that the vehicle is brought to a complete stop by the vehicle, itself', and then is held at a stop, at least until the DRIVER presses the Accelerator.

Now, that's what we EXPECT to happen, but, in your case, YOU brought the truck to a stop, 'slamming on the brakes', as you say. Yes, you would certainly then believe that the truck would REMAIN in a 'hold', even when then you come off the brake pedal....but.... maybe not.

Without necessarily having tested this myself, I'm wondering if the truck 'holding' it's position after slamming on the brakes is actually the way it is designed, even in One-Pedal mode. It begs for some testing. It's possible that slamming on the brakes disables One-Pedal mode, or at least temporarily. That's just a possibility, although it would not seem probable.
If you had also had Auto-Hold deployed, then, yes, none of this would seem possible, no matter applying the brakes, or not... but, who knows.
It's also possible that the 'Collision Alert System' disables One-Pedal after an alert.

Do you remember any collision alert?

I always use two pedal mode. Several times I have moved my foot to the brake, but not quite far enough so the right edge of my foot was also pressing the Go pedal. The result has been what appeared to be a combination of Go and apparently friction braking. Did not slow down as quickly as expected. On every other vehicle I have driven, at rest, the brake pedal was higher (closer to the driver) than the gas pedal, so even if my foot was overhanging the right edge of the brake, it was still no where near the gas pedal. On the Lighting, the brake and Go pedals are almost exactly the same distance from the driver, so if you foot is somewhat overhanging the right side of the brake pedal, it is easy to also press the Go pedal.
