Even Corollas have markups now, no surprise here

Yeah but didn't Ford say that's a non-no to their dealers? They are trying to roll out a new truck and gain EV traction - not a Corolla...
Ford said they could do what they want to do but they would suffer the consequences. Ford already has EV traction not sure what your point is

Oh and this:

Adding $10K to the already high price of an $80K Electric truck is not the way to persuade buyers of the nations most popular ICE vehicle to switch to electric... IMO.

$10k to dealer Demo or abandoned order again is not surprising. Anyone who wanted to switch from ICE to EV would have placed their $100 deposit. The truck is sold out for 2 years…… I think Ford is doing alright as far as persuading buyer, maybe ICE are waiting on the Cybertruck to get out of the Prototype stage

I encourage all Alex on Auto fans to leave a review for Frontier Ford in Santa Clara, CA, on Google Maps.

I was looking forward to hearing his long-term impressions about the truck and will be bummed if he (understandably) backs out of the deal because of ADM.

You sound like the sales manager of a car dealership.
This is the first time someone comment me like that.

To pay $2500 and get Larriat instead of waiting for 2 years is a great deal. Trust me you won’t be able to get it at that price.

Ford really needs to get a handle on this, and they seem to be getting more serious about it. Any vehicle that is ordered from the factory should be sold at MSRP. Dealers like this are seriously hurting Ford's long term brand and goals, as it turns into a "do I want to deal with a dealer, or just order the Tesla online in 15 minutes".

Everyone hates the dealer sale model, but now in the EV space, consumers can actually vote with their wallet.

I'd hate to miss out on such a great opportunity!

$10K ADM is not bad, especially you can get $7500 back.
What action did they take to deserve an additional $10k on top of what they will make on a custom order?

Alex on Autos has enough influence to get a Higher Up Ford Rep to call that dealer, no problem. But hopefully Alex can also advocate for the non-influencer when the time arrives
