Hey all
Anyone know how to modify the Android Auto state of charge estimator on arrival feature, to reflect towing?
I have found it to be really accurate for most of my road trips and daily drives, but when towing, it does not change to reflect the towing load like the truck's range estimator on the instrument cluster.
Anyone found a way to change the settings to try and get that to work while towing?
What I like so much about that feature, vs just the trucks range estimator, is that the SOC calculation takes elevation into account, and seemingly the route's speed limits as well. While driving without a trailer, it was able to correctly estimate that we would arrive somewhere 50kms away and only use like ~3% of charge from where we were at that moment, because we had 1200+ meters of elevation to lose.
Meanwhile, the truck range gauge was freaking my wife out because it was showing we only had ~40-50 kms of estimated range left to go an actual 50 kms, because it was basing that largely on the driving efficiency thus far for that leg. In the end, the SOC estimator was right and we arrived with the ~10-12% that it said we would.
Anyways, it is super handy to have, and I was hoping someone here has figured out how to hack that SoC estimator to reflect the impact of towing a trailer.
Thanks
