Placed my Order for an Avalanche Lariat ER. It's crazy that Ford doesn't tell you whether your deposit is refundable and leaves that up to the dealership.

So I got it confirmed by my assigned salesman in writing that "No additional money will be required to move forward with your special ordered F-150 Lightning, 2023 model build." Got to the reservation page and saw the $500, saw that it said it was up to the dealer to establish refund policy and went forward in hopes of not losing an XLT. I emailed the dealer to confirm that this surprise deposit was of course refundable based on what was stated, and the manager, who was on the original email chain the whole time, simply replied "$500 deposit is non refundable." I called him immediately and pointed out that the salesman previously said that there was no deposit required, he told me "he's just a salesman, i'm the general manager and I set the rules"...I then proceeded to have the most batshit bonkers conversation of my adult life. He said he wasn't going to order my vehicle at all, and I said then give me my money back and he said no. Finally, he agreed to give me my money back if I went to another dealer. I'm not even sure if that's an option right now. My god this is such a nightmare. I'll call Ford tomorrow, I don't even know if I want to buy another vehicle from a dealer again as long as I live.

Anyone know a good dealer near-ish Atlanta that is honest and won't charge a non-refundable deposit or ADM?

I have ordered an SR XLT. This was my choice from my initial reservation from 5/21. I canceled that reservation when it looked like a 2023 or later delivery. I had ordered a MME to get the tax credit thinking when I trade it in on a Lightning it is a wash. I placed a second reservation for the Lightning XLT in September and switched dealerships. I'm the only reservation at this dealer and they gave me their allocation for ordering a 2023. Sorry for possibly leapfrogging those who stuck with their reservations from May, but I think Ford is trying to make sure as many dealerships get Lightnings and spread the brand as much as possible. I had to deposit $1K, but it is refundable.

Now to buy some Lottery Tickets!

Im thinking xlt with very limited options like the towing packages? i actually hope its a slower delivery so i have time to downsize my travel trailer and sell my f250 - i presume the payload scales will do that for me?

I received my invitation to order! I can order an XLT, but I want a Pro. Strangely it says to contact the dealer. I called and they say they can't order the Lightning and have no idea why it is saying that. Has anyone tried calling their dealer in hopes of ordering a Pro?

I just placed an order for an avalanche XLT with the 9.6k pro power as the only option, left the $500 charging cord (not sure if this can be had cheaper from a 3rd party). Total was just shy of $63K.

What is this "scale delete" that was mentioned in a previous post?

Kind of bummed that the pro is not available. Went with the XLT because the smaller screen actually appeals to me more than the vertical behemoth with that silly jog dial tacked on. I sat in a mach-e with a similar setup and kind of hated it.

Anyway. I guess I'll just have to enjoy my 2022 eruption green bronco badsquatch's 15 mpg until late 2023.

Also forgot to mention I was a day 1 reservation for the lightning and selected the pro as my trim. Then my reservation got changed to an XLT like it did for mostly everyone else a few months back. The pro was unavailable when the option to order became available to me this afternoon so went with the xlt.

i ordered an XLT and told the dealer that if he can get me a pro he can have the XLT for his lot!

It's probably because they released Dealer Stock to dealers. I'd be honestly surprised if dealers got Pro's though.

If they did its probably priced the same as an XLT.
