I haven’t seen such discounts BUT if you subscribe by month and cancel before the month is over, you’ll get a refund of the days not used.

For instance, last month I had to make a 700 mile single day trip, so I subscribed on a Thursday (IIRC), drove on Sunday, and cancelled on Monday. I was charged $54 initially (yea sales tax), then saw a $43.67 refund on my card a week later. Makes using it for a day or two, very worth it for long journeys.

Still have over 2 years left on my blue cruise trial and went the comma route. Nice not getting the steering wheel nag from regular lane centering on non-bc roads.

Why would anyone voluntarily pay to have their mother-in-law nag them to "pay attention to the road sonny!!"? Comma is a good option... So is a truck from a different manufacturer that does designed their system to be less naggy. Vote with your wallet!

This is correct. The only difference between blue cruise and not blue cruise is the warnings to keep your hands on the wheel / need to provide steering input.
Erroneous information, regular cruise control is just that it holds your speed for you, blue cruise actually steers the vehicle for you, makes lane changes and steers around bends in the hwy.

I forgot about the lane changes and you're correct that you lose that feature without a subscription. But lane centering + adaptive cruise control, both of which are available on cars with blue cruise but do not require a subscription, does what you're describing. They will steer the vehicle for you, including around bends in the highway, and adjust your speed based on the presence or absence of vehicles in front of you. They just require some steering input every x period to show you're in control.

+1. I added my emphasis above.

Well the 3 year subscription ran out on my 22. I contacted Ford Blue Cruise support and they said I could purchase a lifetime subscription for $2,499, which renews (or not ?) every 7 years for free, but I have to purchase it from a dealer. After contacting multiple dealers with none of them knowing anything about this, I called Ford back and was told the "Lifetime" subscription is only available on 24/25 models when purchased with the truck. This much more constrained offer than what I had been told is frustrating.

Having given up, I let BC expire and closely watched how the vehicle response had changed. I noticed that lane centering is much less likely to activate on given roads and conditions than when I had BC. This was annoying enough that I was looking at this forum to ensure I I was not being over critical, and I found a thread about a free year. Checking Fordpass I found I had an offer for a free year and re-subscribed last night.

This morning when leaving home the truck acted normal again, with lane centering activating when I had expected it. It was only when I got on the freeway that I noticed it was hands free, and then I remember dismissing the notification screen that I had re-subscribed.

In summary, I found the basic usage (adaptive cruise control) of the truck significantly impacted with out BC, and while I did not figure out how to purchase a longer subscription than a year, this next year came at the right price at the right time.

BlueCruise should be cheaper so that Ford can learn from the guys who are willing to use it. Ford needs all the data they can get to make it better. My goodness, you would think Ford would appreciate the guys who spent the extra bucks on the Lariat and Platinum enough to just give them BlueCruise.

Personally, I don't trust any of the self driving cars. They have to be correct 100% of the time to keep you safe. I work with control systems. I've seen the smallest sensor failure cause the biggest problems and cost companies millions of dollars. I certainly don't trust these relatively new systems to protect my life when I don't have to do so. I do like the driver assist features....
Umm, BlueCruise isn't self driving...

Lane centering works fine without BlueCruise, but works better with it.

Mach-E forum has many discussions about it.

If you see the steering wheel with 2 hands in the upper left, that is regular lane centering. It's what gives you the "keep your hands on the wheel" nag. BC has a different screen and says hands-free.
