I have a 2024 Flash, with 25k. It has the dreaded Hancook tires with the outer edge wear that I have heard about from others.

I much prefer the look of the Platinum wheels, so before getting a new set of 20" tires, I was thinking of plunking the money down for Platinum wheels and getting new 22" tires.

It is my hope that the circumference will be the same and the vehicle speed will still be accurately reflected my the speedometer.

Does anyone here know?

Also, any related thoughts?

Thanks!

BTW, I have been seeing Lightnings now almost every day I drive!

When I got my platinum, the wheels were actually something I didn't like. Maybe it was too ahead of its time for me. But now I also like them the most. Strange how that works.

The overall diameter of rim and tire should end up being virtually the same. You should have zero problem making the switch.

Oh I should add a caveat. The platinum lightning has a good chunk of its tow rating and payload reduced. A lot of it has to do with the extra weight of all the extra stuff but I am sure some of it has to do with the low profile tires. If you are someone that maxes out towing and payload, you may want to look into that first.

Platinum wheels and tires will decrease your range by about 7%.

You may want to check on the forum for available Platinum wheels. I have seen them for sale by folks who have replaced them with custom wheels.

The Platinum wheels have slightly less range & give a slightly stiffer ride

If you end up getting rid of the Flash wheels I’m interested!

I changed out the 18 inch stock wheels on my Pro for 22 inch wheels (Ford Performance) and tires that match the Platinum sizing. The 22 inch General Grabbers are almost done at 40,000 miles, with the outer edges definitely wearing faster than the rest of the tire. Unofficially, comparing my data to what I see others reporting, I estimate I’m getting a 5 to 10% less range and acceleration due to the extra weight and large larger circumference. I kept pressure between 40-45psi.
