For those wondering, here is the price change for the MY22 to MY23 in Canada.
Also note, anything over $100k is subject to a 20% luxury tax on the amount over $100k as well.
They are not price protecting even though an order was already placed last year so I am not going to take the truck anymore when it comes in. I ordered a different vehicle last weekend which is gas only (can't go hybrid or PHEV as they are way too long of waits) and the price difference between gas and EV is too high to justify buying an EV anymore unless you do it just to say you have one.

The Luxury Tax doesn’t apply so long as the GVWR is over 8500 pounds, so the extended range Lightning is exempt.

This - it's amazing how some dealers can't read the most basic of details.

My understanding is that in the US price protection is handled as a "credit" when you purchase with the price that is shown on this type of invoice reflecting the updated model cost. You sure you are not just making the assumption there is no price protection? There are a number of forums that seem to indicate that price protection applies in Canada. While not quite as drastic ICEs have also seen substantial increases.
