Hi all,
I’m contemplating a multi state trip and looking to see what people like for mobile navigation apps with good EV charge planning. My Tesla was good at this automatically.

thank

I used the Ford navigation From Maryland to Texas with a stop near Atlanta(I purchased it in Maryland )and it worked fine! I mostly use CarPlay now, but I haven’t driven cross country again.-yet
I have used ABRP for route planning, but have not used it in route (driving across our state is like cross country for most people!)

My trip was a year and a half ago and I know the charging infrastructure is much better now than it was then!
I would recommend that you put in your destination into the navigation in the truck and see what it shows(be sure to adjust your chargers to the high-speed ones if that’s what you’re wanting to do) then do the same with ABRP and CarPlay or android auto and see, which makes most sense??

I use A Better Route Planner.

Let it plan the trip for you, but then edit the stops to your liking (food, distance between, brand, etc.)

I use google maps to navigate to the chargers.

Why not use the navigation in ABRP to get you to your waypoints since it’s already calculated it?

I pick charging stops ahead of time and use Apple Maps to navigate to each and monitor battery %. I haven't ever just let an app figure it out for me. If I was to do your trip I would get the Tesla membership (activate the charge through the Tesla app to get the member rate, don't plug and charge or activate through FordPass) and use Apple Maps set to only use the Tesla network and see what it comes up with. You just have to look out for it sending you too far out of the way to find one, in that case you'll have to manually pick another charger. Apple Maps is very conservative in my experience, it assumes you will need more charge than reality. But it corrects itself as you drive. So it may initially suggest more charging stops than you really will need.

In Arkansas there's Tesla in Hope and Brinkley, then there are a couple in Memphis. If you need to charge between Hope and Brinkley there's an EA in Benton. You're good to go with Tesla on I40 through Tennessee.

Of course you need a Tesla supercharger adapter.

Apple Maps is pretty decent, you can set different vehicles and preferred charging providers. It’s not locked behind a pay wall (ignoring Apples walled Garden). Google Maps is a close second but not as flexible in selecting preferred charging providers. ABRP is good but it’s behind a paywall for integrated features. Fords built in is ok but I prefer to be able to plan on my phone away from vehicle so Fords system is not for me. Plus it too is behind a pay wall for updated maps. In short when using an iOS phone I use Apple Maps and Google Maps when using an Android phone.

I have found Google Maps to be better at finding the quickest route, particularly on the fly, than ABRP. But ABRP is better at estimating battery usage.

Gotcha! Sure would be nice if we could use one app for everything but I can see pros and cons. At least we have options.
