Who said I don't use it on public roads?

A lot of us use our trucks off public roads. I don't want to listen to the DING DING DING DING as soon as I put the truck in gear.

I normally use seat belt extenders that are essentially buckles that plug right in and defeat all the nanny crap on newer trucks, but it seems those are getting harder to find. Maybe the government has cracked down on those?
Ignore this. I have an 82lb dog that triggers the warning so I stopped only the passenger seat. When anyone is in there, the first thing I do is see the red light and tell them to belt up. Not a big deal. I did the passenger seat using the instructions while sitting in the driver seat. If that helps. Oh and I did it running, not in accessory.

Buckle the belt and sit on it. Seatbelt extenders here.

OK I think I finally got it. Rather than paying any attention to visual cues (i.e., the seatbelt warning light) what I had to do was get in the truck, set the parking brake, start the truck, wait 5 seconds for the audible tone to go off, then buckle and unbuckle 4 times immediately afterward.

THEN the seatbelt warning light began to flash indicating a successful change.

Apparently Ford takes forever to update owners manuals, but if you find a NEW copy somewhere online it'll list this correct procedure for the Job 2 trucks built in late 2025.

yeah I updated the IPC on my 23 to one from a 24 to get the charge rate and that seems to have changed the seat belt monitor. Couldn't use FORScan since my obdii dongle was two hours away but found a video on youtube of a guy doing an f250. The procedure he followed was waiting until the ABS light goes off, then buckle/unbuckle 4 times. Seat belt man starts flashing and then buckle/unbuckle one last time. That seemed to work for me.
