I would very much like to put a stake in the heart of this thread and watch it die.
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
It has become so negative and really serves no useful purpose other than increase stress and drives some to drink or experiment with drugs excessively.

Instead, I would like to see a new thread started with something like "Real News on Lightning Scheduling". NOT - "Disappointment April".

Lately, I have tried hard to stay away from reading this thread even though I, too, wait breathlessly for my Production Date from my February 4th Order Date. Many earlier waves have waited even longer. But, really, what changes if Ford were to give you a date? Maybe you could make some better financial decisions but one should always plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Theoretically, during April, Waves 1-2 not scheduled should be scheduled for June. And the rest should be scheduled for July and August as we approach the middle of May. This would be a natural progression unless a World War or Rouge Asteroid ensues.

Some years ago, when the Native American Reservations first opened casinos I found myself becoming addicted to trying to make some easy cash-for-fun. Later, I got involved in early Yahoo Messaging and ICQ messaging. TOO INVOLVED! And I had to force myself to just walk away.

Folks...I think you can be reasonably sure either Ford or your Dealer will contact you when your Lightning is coming. Wanting a minute-to-minute update of every phase of the buying process is becoming a real addiction for some. Someone should offer those of you who are becoming addicted some sort of intervention (maybe there is a pill for that?).
:):):):):)
Welcome to another round of don't get your hopes up Thursday!

In all seriousness though, good luck to everyone with their fingers crossed for Wave 5!
It should be easy since the thread was started for those waiting to be selected to place an order.

I think it's a good have a target date, which we already had when our orders were confirmed, [delivery 20/24 weeks from that point in time], so that said, July 21st for wave 3 orders +/- 2 weeks for supplies and efficiency of production adjustments, I can live with that as the overall goal.

But we've seen scheduling up to now picked from various waves for retail production startup, that changed the 7/21 goal in my mind, now replaced with I could be next or not thinking.

Now that the initial offers have expired, and corporate is deciding how to balance the remaining 2022 production schedule, and they have had a months worth of production data in hand, toss dates out for the rest of us with the provision that ~stuff~ happens.

In the meantime, I'll stick with my 7/21 delivery date, kind of like planning a big vacation event, it's usually long term planning with certainty, and until then you live on the building anticipation of the event coming to be. If the FoMoCo surprises me in the interim, that's great, if they're off schedule, all we can do is roll with it the day after disappointment, 7/22 in my mind.

Keep a lookout for my future these called “Disappointment April”

I was planning for a July deliver myself. So this is kind of in line with my expectations so far.

Is it true EV credit will only apply to the trucks with MSRP under $80k?

Looks like that’s the “proposed bill”but I’ll probably see if I can remove the bed liner to stay under $80k.

No - that was the BBB- Build Back Better bill which never became legislation. Fed rebates still operate under the old rule - no purchase price limits. Other rules, but none about purchase price.

Isn't that still pending and could pass?

It seems it is dead this year. Anything that were to pass will be dismantled into a smaller bill. I am not the political guru however. Even if it did, no one could promise it would be retroactive.

Dealer removed spray in liner. Puts me under the 80k, no production delay, and maybe the linex is better. The Ford one I had on my ICE wasn't anything amazing and was sloppy in some areas.

Keep a backup plan/escape route.

Through the first quarter, the bill seems dead. However, it isn't uncommon for things like this to be broken apart and passed in smaller chunks, or saved for a later point which is what a lot of people are pointing to.

That said, they're politicians. They live for coverage and they will want publicity on a bill of such a nature. If we're not hearing about, chances are it's not going through.

It will never pass, not enough subsidized money to the big oil. Yes not enough and why does that matter, because the american system is based off what will it pay me vs how will it help everyone under me.

I believe that Tim Barz from Long MacAuthur Ford said on this week’s VLOG that Ford was no longer sending scheduling emails for when orders are scheduled for the week of, but rather is waiting until they know the actual production day. My recollection is that it had to do with production schedule slippages. As a result, it is entirely possible that Ford may have trucks designated for a particular week of production, but is waiting to send the email until there is more certainty. Please feel free to correct me if I misunderstood Mr. Bartz
