Curious to see what you guys have done to manage the charging cable. My EVSE (Grizzl-E Ultimate 48) is near the front of my garage, on the side wall. The truck always gets charged in the driveway. Coiling the cable up over the included cable rack/nozzle dock is a hassle I'd prefer to eliminate. I was thinking of one of those retractable reels like you see on some of the DCFC's. There seem to be a lot out there with mixed reviews. Anyone done something they're really happy with?

Retractable cables probably won't fly, or they would be extremely expensive given the amperage rating and really hard to certify. I also have mine installed between the garage doors. I can pull it out to the driveway or charge in the garage. I installed a few simple hangers to hang the cord in the garage so it isn't on the floor.

Not actual advice, but what about those hose reels? I have my EVSE mounted outside and mounted half the cable along my porch railing; gives enough slack to plug in the truck and doesn't drag the cable on the ground when I dock the handle.

I initially was thinking about that, but I don't think that can work. I have 2 hose reels like that on my house. They have to have a separate connector to keep from pulling on the supply hose from the faucet. Same thing would have to be true for the power cable.

It doesn't offer a spot to coil the cord and hang it from the charger body like Fords charger?

Yes, it does. However, just like if you have one of those garden hose hangers on the wall, coiling it by hand is a hassle and I end up with dirty hands. I know that some people wouldn't care about that, but I'm interested in making it trouble free.

Wear gloves. Only type of retraction you're going to find has already been posted.
