Probably not the issue in this case, but worth noting that early A2Z Pro adapters (the single press release version) had a short pin problem and failed on all Tesla V4 chargers. A2Z's support was superb - they replaced the adapter. The only thing is that they did not require you to return the original flawed unit. I've wondered how many of these adapters got re-sold on eBay without a disclaimer.
OP identified the issue - both account issues.

I can tell you that EBay was full of recalled adapters. I notified EBay, they blew me off. So I notified the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission). Selling recalled products is illegal. CPSC acted and EBay got in trouble.

The short pin issue wasn't a recall though.

I had exactly this same problem last Friday. It charged for about 5 minutes, and then suddenly paused. I unplugged and te-plugged , and it charged again for a few minutes ands again paused. I repeated for a third time and it finished. I ended up getting three receipts from Ford.
But a day earlier, I stopped at an EA charger, and it did not recognize me as a Ford PASS customer and I had to use a credit card. But when I was done EA charged me $50 for a $20 charge.

I had an issue the very first time I tried to use a tesla charger, but was able to use the tesla app to initiate the charge. I also had to disconnect and reconnect though. I think my issue was something account related (Ford side maybe). I've yet to have an issue since and I just plug it in and wait for magic handshake.
I'm actually not sure if I always plug the adapter into the truck before connecting the charge cable. Interesting thread to read through.
