I'm sure there are canbus lines with the needed signal under the hood but not documented so IDK where. There are other CanM8 devices that include more/other light signals. I wanted the side lights since that drives the amber backlighting of the LED pods.

I assume he ran the front fender flare lights to the back too, but trying to get a follow up from him. Either way, running a wire slightly further to the tow hitch seems like it could be easier than canbus for something simple like DRLs.

The wire from that trailer hitch has to make it up to the ECU. There's got to be a spot to tap it somewhere along the way without having to go all the way back to the trailer hitch.

In my case I am just putting DRLs up front and lighted emblem.

I don't disagree, but this is the first I've seen someone be able to tap into the DRL from the truck without the canbus. If you find somewhere else better, let me know!
