As of around 7:30 PM Friday night, I lost access to all the remote features when Ford pass would no longer respond with the refresh command, the truck is still usable in the meantime sans minor remote conveniences.

This morning I made a call to the Ford Customer Service hot line, opened a service ticket to have my Ford Pass account unlocked again. It might take 5 days to complete, can't be done by front line C/S for security concerns and so they can document the root cause (Charge Smart Ma app) is not a trusted application at this point.

In the meantime, I've removed the app, closed the account with Charge Smart and asked them to let me know when they have a fully functional security agreement with Ford, then I'd be happy to resume using the program and earn some TOU credits for charging during non-peak periods.

Received email from Ford Pass Advanced Tech Support this morning, asking me to commit to stop using the Charge Smart Ma app, as further use would ensure a permanent lock out.

I responded with the affirmative, that I had already closed out the account and removed the offending app from my device, never to be installed until Change Smart Ma has matured the product and secured an interoperations & security agreement with Ford Pass.

I should be able to connect in the next 48 hours.

Well, I had been considering taking a look into this rebate but since I've only been using 100-200kWh per month at home the measly 0.03-0.05/kWh isn't even worth the hassle.

Follow-up email exchange with Advanced Support Ford Pass, the prior unlock request failed, so he is inputting another request this morning, I might have access in 48-72 hours, unacceptable!

I have only opened the Charge Smart App twice since I posted here last. I didnโ€™t have to login either time and was hoping I was safe. Apparently notโ€ฆ

When I discussed buying my Mach-E with my dealer, I told him that I expected Ford to screw up on the updating, and the app, after 3 years with MyFordMobile. I have to say that Ford has exceeded my expectations in all areas; in other words, it's worse than I expected.

Log into the Charge Smart MA app, use the DELETE ACCOUNT process.
Uninstall that app.
You will get a sorry you're leaving email, advise them why you're leaving.

Call the main Ford hot line 1-800-392-(FORD), get to the Ford Pass help desk, ask them to initiate an unlock ticket.

Verbally acknowledge you have closed & removed the third party app.

The Advanced support technician may follow-up with another affirmation that you closed the third party access, then will begin the unlock process.

It's too bad they {Charge Smart Ma} have not gotten the appropriate security agreements lined up to perform beta-testing.

Can you tickle the folks in the Ford Pass cloud security group to unlock me, it's now my second round of 48 hours waiting!!

Last word was it might take up to 72 hours, do they work on Saturday?

I've been on the phone with them twice so far. First I called them (clear cookies and get a case number) and then next they called me (told them the app name and that it was removed). So based on your timeline I am just at the start of my unlock journey.

I appreciate Ford's effort to protect the security of our Ford Pass account...however it is far easier to unlock access to just about any other online account I have (including my bank account). ?
