So this advertisement popped up in my app today. What does this feature do any different than the standard tracking and alerts received on Ford Pass? I guess the start inhibit? Nah, for 8 bucks I will save for my insurance deductible if it’s ever stolen. SaaS is out of hand.

I paid over 90k cash for my truck. It's a shame how they want to nickel and dime us for stuff that should be free, or at least moderately priced, smh.

I would pay for a feature similar to Tesla Sentry, but this is not it.

I read somewhere years ago, Ford introduced a feature where the keyfob sleeps if it senses no motion for 45ish seconds, therefore it will not respond to RF interrogations while sitting on say a countertop somewhere. All that to say, unless someone was specifically targeting my vehicle, odds seem fairly slim (for my specific situation) to be subject to a relay attack.

Roll on OVMS functionality for our trucks.



I recently replaced OnStar (similar issues) with OVMS - but someone hasn't coded it for Ford yet.

No ability to do security monitoring, but it's also free from OEM prying eyes.
