I got sideswiped coming out of a toll plaza today, I really thought it was just the mirror so I pulled over to push it back, wasn’t going to chase the truck since it was kind of a mutual fault but when I stopped I saw the damage-I don’t even think the guy knew we made contact since I didn’t
Anyways you think this is fixable or they’re going to have to replace door & front panel? I’m just nervous bc idk how hard or easy it is to get body parts. Would be cool to get a newer front panel sans the fake charging port that fake port is kind of dumb. Appt at body shop Fri 8am-just wondering if they’ll fix it or replace it-I’ve seen body guys do miracles but not sure if this is going to be one of them

Well this is a rough estimate based upon the pics provided. Good pics BTW.
Looks like there’s some tire transfer onto ur passenger side front wheel. If there is, hopefully that can be buffered out. If not then they’d need to repair it, & should do an alignment.
If they can’t buff out the mirror, or if the body tech can’t properly disassemble it, those aren’t cheap from Ford
Looks like u snapped the running board back on, so if that’s not damaged, should lessen the price by a lot.
I wasn’t sure if that is the Ford 3-stage red (looks like it is but didn’t wanna assume) so I didn’t include that.
All the parts I have on it are OEM (from Ford) but if u go thru ur insurance company they’ll probably use aftermarket (A/M) & used if available and cost effective.
Sorry this happened to u. Beautiful looking truck 💪

This is an impressively detailed estimate! On the bright side, if this were another EV truck like a Rivian or a Cybertruck then I'm sure it'd be quite a bit more pricey to fix.

Damn, you thought that was just a mirror? Impressive
I've not had any damage of that level. That being said, this is my first "aluminum" vehicle and it definitely sounds different(softer?) when things like rain, gravel etc. hit it. Also, I imagine it takes a lot less force to do that to an aluminum door than it would a steel door and therefore the noise is also lessened. On top of that it seems to me that Ford put a lot of effort into cabin noise control because this thing is super quiet compared to my previous Ford trucks, but of course part of that is the lack of an ICE.

Aluminum is also harder to repair since it doesn’t really have memory like steel.

I believe the front panel with the fake charge port has been discontinued, so if you get a new OEM part it will likely be the 24+ one without the fake port.

Yesterday a construction worker working on remodeling the house next door clipped my driver's side mirror.

Ford F-150 Lightning HIT & RUN-Fixable??? IMG_5943.JPG

I didn't see it happen but my security cameras did. I found the broken mirror later when I went out at night to run an errand.

I could see from the security video he was coming towards my parked truck on the wrong side of the street, and parked facing the wrong way just past my house.

The mirror folded like it should but it broke anyway.

He was apparently only working there that day, he didn't leave his information on my truck so its a ht-and-run if he noticed he hit my truck, but the remodeling contractor says he can get his info.

I imagine those mirrors are pricey. Doesn't look repairable, broken plastic mounting pieces on the inside.

Damn.

Simialr situtuation as yours but only a small dent in scratch in front door and scratches in running board. Was 6k repair, I think your estimate is way off.

Just from what I can see, not sure what is damaged. See if the mirror damaged the door glass. Hope this helps.

Thanks...
Crazy prices!

It only hit and damaged the mirror assembly as far as I can tell.
I looked at it and some plastic mounting as well as the body of the thing is broken so not able to repair it myself with body putty (done that with other vehicles that were not so new).

Ordered a new one coming in tomorrow at the Ford parts dept - I was surprised it was only $426.
The passenger side is $1200 the parts guy told me.

Going to have it installed Tuesday (earliest they can do it).
My insurance deductible is $500 so most of the cost will be out of my pocket.

I have a video of him hitting it from my security cameras but it was raining hard and they are about 50ft away so not that clear, he might not even have realized he hit it, when I found it it was folded with the glass assembly part hanging on by the wires - I don;t see any body damage thank goodness.

I imagine a 1 hour labor charge of over $100 (whatever it goes for these days at the dealership).

I got his first name and tel no from the contractor he was working for, which I passed on to the Ins co so they can contact him. I hesitate to report it to the police since hit and run is a felony and he might not have realized he hit my mirror with the heavy rain and all.

One never knows about people...
