I have a Charge Point system and use an J1772 extension to charge my truck. The Charge Point is limited to 40amps and that is something to also consider when selecting an extension longer the cable the lower the charging amperage.

It has been working for me for about a year.
This.
Make sure to lower the amps with an extension, the stock cable size was almost certainly engineered to be the minimum size required for the charger's peak amperage. If you somehow know the wire size used you can always refer to a wire size calculator to set the maximum current.

I have the A2Z, I use it frequently, and I throttle to 30 amps, generally. I would recommend it (the cable, and the throttling). Quality product.

According to your forum profile, you are running a 2023 Lightning. How are you throttling it? That function was not added until MY 2025.

UL limits any AC charging cable to 25', correct? If you have an evse with a 25' cord, you can't go any longer. Are there any DC cords yet? Just for those Tesla stations that require taking the space next to the charger.
That’s the maximum length of the cable that’s integral to the EVSE. UL/NEC do not address extensions (currently). An EVSE can have a longer cable as long as it also has a “cable management system that’s integral with listed EVSE equipment.”

I have an emporia charger. The current level is selectable via the app.

I personally purchased the J-1772 extension cord from A2Z and was very impressed with the quality and how thick it was.

If you decide to go the A2Z EV route using their AC extension cord. You can save 15% off and get free shipping. They will cover the duties right now as mentioned on their page.

Right now they are taking 20% off and the 15% off stacks on top.

I have an A2Z extension cord in use on my hardwired Enel Juicebox V2 with a OpenEVSE board inside. It has worked without fail on my Lightning, Chevy Equinox EV and Chevy Bolt. I have been running it at 48amp amp max output of the Juicebox. Seems to be just fine but it does get slightly warm but the whole rig is outside. I bought it sometime back with a discount code.

any competent electrician, or, like me, any confident DIYr, can make an 'extension' cord easily - just because it's for an EV makes no difference - use 8awg 3-wire SOOW cable[Lowes], which is 40-55amp capable, and flexible, and is probably exactly what your EVSE is made of...
the 4prong NEMA 14-50 male/female 'connectors' on each end are available at Walmart, or any "RV" store, or Lowes, etc. You don't use, or need to wire for the Neutral.

I've used one for years - probably in the 80' length range. Never any issue with my 30a Ford EVSE or our 30a MaxGreen Adjustable EVSE.

Yeah, but then you have to move the entire EVSE to the end of your cord. Now if you showed us how to get the wire attached to the ends of a J1772 plug...

It's not the most elegant solution, but we purchased an RV 50amp extension cord a couple years ago that has worked really well for us. We don't need it very often, only when traveling to the in-laws and the only option is the dryer outlet or one in the shed that our Ford mobile charger can't reach. Those are 30 amp so to the point/concerns of many here, we're using the extension cord well within its ratings. We keep it in the frunk storage for the "just in case" scenarios. It's big, it's heavy, not something I'd want to use every day. I believe this is the one we got:

I wonder if this is an option. Move the charging input to the frunk, keep an EVSE in there, and run an extension cord thru the existing charge door, into the frunk.
