I figure since I'm moving across the country, it would be a good time to install a bed cap to keep stuff dry / secure while on the road (and especially charging stops).

Overall, think it looks pretty clean. Haven't noticed a difference in range but I have a long drive tomorrow so I'll check out how I do at 60mph.

Looks great. A couple of questions.

what model leer topper?
cost?
wait time to get built?

How did range go with your 60 mph drive today? ?

I got the 100XR, it was $3k before taxes and I got the bed rhino lined at the same time. Took a little over 3 weeks from order to install. At first they had the wrong color, but the shop quickly repainted it to match and I think they did a pretty awesome job. There's small differences in reflectivity but overall it's sharp.

I haven't hit the road yet, probably leave sometime this afternoon and I'll get a few different speeds and efficiencies from a 5min avg off the trip meter.

I’m pretty sure I know the answer but I’m going to ask for certainty. My Dad had a 2001 F150 Lariat extended cab with a topper. We pulled it off a decade ago and it’s been sitting on blocks under a tarp since then. If the bed is the same size (which I think mine is shorter) would it fit?

The 2022 lightning bed is 5' 6" aka 66" aka 67.2".
The 2001 F150 bed is 5' 7.2" aka 67.3 aka 5.5 foot.

So clear as mud? Put it on and just see how long it is over. It might fit fine.
50.6 inches wide should be the same width.

Didn't see much of a range hit. At 70, I was getting 1.9-2.0mi/kWh. 65 was 2.3-2.4, and 75 was closer to 1.7. Seems about right what it was before. Total trip average was 56mph at 2.2mi/kWh for 164 miles. Arrived at 47%.

I had same top on my 2014 Ram 1500 for 130k miles, loved it and we packed it full. My wife sa8d no to it going on the Lightning as she said it is too sporty to be an old man's truck lol. I still like them;)

I have the Ranch cap on my truck.
Love it, but just one complaint: the whistle!
At > 40MPH you can hear a high-pitched whistle, that after some reading, I take it is likely caused by the channeling of wind between the back of the truck cab and the front of the cap.

I've tried some expanding foam sealer, but it doesn't look great and doesn't entirely take care of the problem.
Anything you-all have dealt with in your cap installs?

I haven't had mine long, but plenty of instances of heading up to 75mph and back down. I haven't noticed any whistling or noise.

Your pic shows racks on top. Those usually cause sounds you are describing.

Yes, oddly though it makes the noise even with the racks removed.
The top line of the cap is slightly higher than the cab, which may explain it.
