Hello everyone,

Curious if anyone has installed laser jammers and radar detectors in your lightning and if so, please provide info on equipment choices, cost, install time and difficulty, pros and cons of chosen equipment, etc. Thanks in advance!

I have a Valentine One G2 in my F150 Lightning. Installed behind mirror on passenger side so rear radar is just sticking out...makes it hard to see. I use a dedicated Samsung Android phone running JBV1 for all filtering, arrow display, etc. Install easy with wire tap and suction cup mount on windshield. This combo is for someone who likes fiddling with settings and has an Android phone already, or doesn't mind getting one though. If that's not you, something like the Uniden R8 is better. If you want cheaper, the lower end, front radar only unidens and radensos are good. Go to rdforum.org. TONS of good info on radar detectors there!

I have a Uniden R8 installed to the left of the mirror and hardwired into the mirror power along with my dashcam, and it's amazing. It has an incredible detecting range and I can't complain. While I would take the Uniden R8 any day, there are a ton of good options.

Valentine 1 Gen2 hooked to the rear view mirror with an adapter I found online. It hangs from the stem that holds the rear view mirror.

Hi, What's the jbv1? I have a Valentine g2 but not familiar what you're describing...
It's an app that runs only on Android. I couldn't begin to explain all of the features of the app, but essentially if you want your radar detector to do it, there' probably a way to configure it that way using JBV1. Start reading here on the rdforums to get an idea of what it can do.

Essentially it connects to the V1G2 via bluetooth and takes over control. All arrows are displayed on the Android phone running JBV1. It controls if/when the V1G2 makes noise, so it can filter out repeat signals based on your settings, for example. Pass malls silently. :)

Can you post pics of your setup? I'm considering a similar configuration.

Sorry I missed this! Posted on "eclipse day" so I was out trying to find a charger. :)

I should have a chance to snap some pics later today and post them so you can see. Essentially I used the suction cup mount included with the V1 to mount it on the windshield behind the rearview mirror. Offset to the passenger side slightly so the antenna has a clear view around the mirror to the back of the vehicle. I used a mirror tap for power, so easy to power with a short wire, no trim removal required. My phone is mounted between the steering wheel and the center screen, just low enough to not annoy BlueCruise. Pix coming soon. :)

I installed phasers and photon torpedoes, does that count?
