Didn't mention it before, but I have spray-in bed liner, but also the Ford rubber mat. I think the mat only adds 30 to 40lbs. And of course it can be taken out. Rubber mat does prevent most stuff from moving around much (i.e. if I put suitcases, etc,) UNLESS I have a panic stop...

Finally on my previous F150 I had the foldable/flippable "bed extension" that someone else posted. It worked well for keeping a limited amount of stuff near the tailgate. Decided on not getting one this time. Just using the collapsible bag I talked about in my previous post.

My main objective is to prevent items from shifting in the bed. Could be grocery bags (plastic or reusable), a box of something, a suitcase, etc. That's why I am trying to avoid a divider; I don't really want a divider. It works fine for every day use, but I am too lazy to climb onto the bed to remove it if, for example, I need to drive someone to the airport with a suitcase. I know, crazy excuse....that's what happens when you get older ?.
So ideally it would be a non-slipping surface, but I am also sensitive to weight - I don't want something too heavy either. Not sure how much the rubber mats weigh. I have the feeling the Bedrug mat is lighter than the rubber one.
1x10 (not 2x10) leaves plenty of room for 2 or 3 suitcases, and is light enough to lift out with one hand. Unlike a shower rod, things can't slide underneath. I may eventually add a rubber mat as well, but I like the ease of sliding things in and out with the plastic bedliner. Paper grocery bags don't slide around, they don't allow plastic bags here anymore.

Just use the backseat area, I sure dont want groceries spilled all over the bed.

I know the Bedrugs rugs keep items from sliding in the bed, but I am hoping to spend less than $168. I have a Line-x spray in and it doesn't have to look nice because the bed is covered anyways. I am looking for something that will prevent grocery bags, other stuff, from sliding back and forth in the bed. Any idea will be appreciated.

Thanks.
This is what I made to keep gas cans, chain saw and other stuff from sliding forward in the bed. It's easily removable and didn't cost me anything because I usually have a lot of scrap wood laying around. The pic's were taken when it wasn't completely finished.

When I got WeatherTech mats I threw the OEM rear rubber mat in the bed to protect my skis. Works pretty well, and easy to take out and throw wherever.

The most versatile solution is an adjustable shower rod. They expand and have fine screw adjustments to make them tight, buy two ($12-$20 each) and then you can create cradles to retain any variety of sizes of cargo.

Or if you don't like the shower curtain rod idea, they do make 'small' cargo retaining rods, similar to what 18-wheelers use, but they run about $40

I like the shower rod idea!!!

I use a milk crate to keep small stuff from rolling around and a Tractor Supply horse stall mat to keep the bed from getting too banged up or resonating over bumps. The mat doesn't keep things from sliding unless they are on the heavy side and you drive like you're eating a bowl of cereal.

You get six giant totes($16 CDN each) from Home Depot. They will fill the bed with a few inches to spare between them. The ones closest to the tailgate are for things that go in and out the most(groceries).

Keeps your stuff clean because there’s usually dust and stuff in the bed. And when you need the space they all stack into each other and you can stick them in the corner or just put the whole stack in the garage if you need the whole bed.

I usually put groceries and luggage in the back with the seats up and use a bungie to hold the yard tools gas can in the back of the bed when refilling it. I do like both the trucker/shower rod and the wood plank idea for temporary holds if really needed, but I haven't made the effort to procure those since I haven't really experienced a sliding load.
