I have had two mounted on the left side for several months

They functioned great straight up and down. They did not twist at an angle because the bottom of the ratchet assembly rubbed against the bed wall. I solved the problem with longer bolts and spacers between the bed wall and the ratchet strap mount. Hopefully other models don’t have this issue.

I use CargoBuckle G3's. I didn't permantently mount mine to box links through, but they do stay strapped there when not in use. They hold my side by side in the bed, among other things (see pfp).

I just use the Rhino Retractable straps. They work great fit fine under the back seat.

I've never tried "auto-self-retracting" straps, ever have any trouble with that feature?
Sure is a pain sometimes cranking straps back into the coil.
