Got mine back yesterday. Based on the work sheet some heat-shields and another item (i assume battery module were replaced) . Charged it up to 90% (on my house solar system) and backed it into the detached garage. Will drive it today. I'm happy it was not torn completely apart. Don't fix what ain't broken.

I'm not sure your two statements go together. You assumed a battery module was replaced, but you also note you are happy that it was not torn completely apart. If they replaced a battery module, your battery was dropped from the truck and disassembled to get the new module in. It was torn apart.

Took four weeks, but we have had the truck back for a couple days now. So far so good. 3 modules replaced. So glad to have the recall done and can safely charge to 100% again when needed.

Similar experience to you. Dealership had my truck for 3 weeks. It took a week for Ford and the Dealership to determine the fix. Another week to get parts. One module was replaced. So, for my truck this is the second module that has been replaced. Like you I am glad to have my truck back, and the ability to charge to 100%.

Small update. Dealership pushed our appointment back for three weeks (dropped off Monday, was originally scheduled for July 7). No explanation, but I don't mind since the truck was perfectly drivable, hopefully it was to order parts (but I'm also a realist). When I dropped it off he was still saying they would need to inspect it before ordering modules.

Got a loaner, 25 F150 Hybrid, it's nice but not a Lightning, also, that transmission shifts like a drunk when it's cold. The brake booster is also super noisy when it's in EV mode. Makes me appreciate the Lightning all that much more. The familiar ding while backing up is mildly comforting though.

I know Ford only pays loaner for three days, but my rental paperwork said 4 days, which is today. Definitely not encouraged by the updates I've seen here, your trucks being gone for multiple weeks! Seems like Ford really does their best to make the process quick and well documented, only for the dealers to literally not follow what's written in the process.

" I know Ford only pays loaner for three days, but my rental paperwork said 4 days, which is today. Definitely not encouraged by the updates I've seen here, your trucks being gone for multiple weeks! "

Dropped off my truck 7-9, went on vacation 21 days, avoiding extended rental costs for Ford (it is possible to get more than 3 days, "just" have dealer get OK from BEV team and another Ford entity) but dealer only recently dropped battery to do the stupid @Ford Motor Company module serial number confirmation inspection. So now getting the dealer authorized cheapest Enterprise Hyundai rental at about $60/day (auth for 8 days, can be extended), of which Ford will only cover $40/day worth. No ETA on the three modules that need to be replaced (my build was October, 2022, SR).

Customer notification says: "Your dealer is authorized to provide a rental vehicle for your personal transportation at no charge (except for fuel and insurance) while your vehicle is at the dealership for repairs. Please see your dealer for guidelines and limitations."

Dealer four free Mazda loaners were already taken. Very poor customer support for their problem, that should be charged back to SK On, at no cost to Ford. Probably a Chevy EV will be our next buy unless I can reach Jim Farley on X.com and he responds with full reimbursement. I will see if BEV customer "support" changes their tune when I show the "no charge" statement of the recall.

I got lucky that the truck was in for other warranty repairs. Having PremiumCare ext warranty gets you day 1 rental coverage. I drove around the 1.5T Bronco Sport for a few weeks. Worth getting ext warranty regardless of keeping it past the factory warranty. You get prorated refund if you sell your truck early.

Interesting as there is no fix and we are being told don't charge past 80%

Description
On your vehicle, it may be possible for an internal short circuit in the high voltage battery to occur after repeated charge and discharge cycles.
Safety Risk
If a short circuit occurs after repeated charge and discharge cycles, there is an increased risk of a vehicle fire. Owners can reduce this risk by limiting charging of the high voltage battery to 80 percent state of charge before new battery arrays are installed in your vehicle.
Remedy
Parts are not available. Ford Motor Company is working to provide parts for this repair. When the remedy becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge. The remedy is anticipated to be available in the second quarter of 2025.
I'm going to pickup my truck after the dealer having it for a week. It seems this recall is all about a particular HV battery module. And in my case that defective module was 1 of the 3 battery modules that I already had replaced. So my dealer had to drop the HV battery to get serial numbers to ensure I needed that module replaced, before they'd send out the new module. Since it had previously ben replaced all the dealer did was reinstall my HV battery.

Any limit on what Ford would pay for rental? Or was this just a loaner from the dealer?
