About 3 months ago I got the "service vehicle soon" message with the wrench icon. I was very nervous but did not lose any % of battery or power. I did get the "4WD powertrain malfunction message" in the Ford App.
I realized the evening before my child had bumped the gear shifter and it was "sticking" a bit. I kept it around town and just kept an eye on things and eventually it went away.
Last night same thing happened. I pressed the silver "shift down" button and it would not work. I assume my gear shift module is getting finnicky. I do not really fold the GSM down, maybe 8-10 times total in the life of the vehicle.
This morning I turned to vehicle off and the silver button worked. Turn the car back on and the "wrench" is gone.
My questions are
1. Does this seem like an accurate diagnosis?
2. What would you do? Take it into Ford for a replacement? I cringe at my vehicle being on a lot for a few weeks for something I can do myself. Honestly I was looking at the turn-dialer already just for more space. Seems I need to pull the trigger.
3. Anyone experience any pushback on a voided warranty for this self Mod? It's a 2023 so I'm running out of Bumper-to-bumper anyways.
Thanks,
