Software Update Preferences not working?

Same thing here! Intermittently fordpass responds, "vehicle is in deep sleep mode", so no remote start at 10 degrees! Sometimes no approach lighting with interior lights, other times approach lights come and no interior lighting, or Sometimes neither. Also now I'm getting Intermittently "reverse brake assist not available " . At this point I would prefer to have it as it was prior to the attempted updates. At least everything worked. This seems to be going downhill fast, and I fear the update will come with its own new set of problems.

Same thing here. All of a sudden. Least we know it’s not just us. I actually reset my setting to delete ford pass from the touchscreen then deleted Ford pass app, re downloaded on my phone and reactivated it to my truck. Going on about 4 hours.

Ford has made a big mess with this ota crap, I've driven Ford trucks since I was 17 years old, and every other aspect of this truck is great. But as far as technology goes they suck, this all started in December. Ford should have made this a number 1 priority to get this up and working again instead they rolled this out and have left us all stuck for 2 months now. Any other technology company would immediately roll out an updated patch within days! I'm becoming extremely frustrated with this and ford's inept technical support. They treat you like a simpleton and have zero knowledge about what seems to be a common problem.

You guys check your passenger door if you have the smart key when this is going on see if it locks or unlocks. In the end it doesn’t really matter but it seems all connected. Either way at least we are not alone.
And to me at least it’s minor still love the truck as I know this will get fixed here soon.

I'll check mine tomorrow, to understand the problem correctly the door doesn't unlock at the same moment as the approach lights fail?

Anyone else have their proximity sensors just beeping continously as if they are close to something when they aren't? I have that, not always but sometimes, and not always the same sensors. I thought maybe it was dirt on the sensors from Canadian winter but as I have not washed my truck I can't confirm that to be true

I've had this on occasion, sometimes the display will say "sensor blocked" other times nothing. So every time I've resolved it by wiping them off with a damp cloth. Salt spray, dirt and ice and freezing rain all seem to block them.

Ya when the proximity lights fail then all the issues pop up at the same time. As well as the passenger door.
If the proximity lights work and nothing is glitched out. Then the door works fine. Just strange.

Anyone who’s stuck on 1.7 have the odd issue with the welcome lighting not turning on and no interior lights. Also the bell noise doesn’t come from the speakers and sounds like it’s some weird binging sound under the dash. Also the radio preset will flash sometimes when this happens. I’d say it happens maybe once a week. I think it’s all related I’m sure. Can’t wait for this fix coming this month.


I have also noticed this only when this happens. For example when the walk up lighting doesn’t work and the interior lights don’t light up.

when the above is happening the passenger side door handle won’t unlock or lock the door. Very strange. From the outside the smart key handle etc.

After say I go to the store and run one key cycle it’s fine when I walk up to it next time.

Like I said this all started since 1.7 has become stuck.

Is there any way to get these updates via USB or phone? I am in Germany, so no AT&T network. I have to street park and even if I pull close to the house, there is no wifi signal. Nearest dealer is 30+ miles away and is a pain to schedule anything. I have the Forscan cable if that can be used. Thanks.

It happened this morning, no approach lights, passenger door would not open, no interior lights.
Also used the fob for remote start, which should report blinking green then solid green LED, But on the start this morning blinking red, then solid red, yet the truck still started.

I’m pretty sure when the so called fix for this issue comes out this month it should fix it for us. I’ll see what they say but I’m sure that’s all it will be.

My job1 truck finally got it's 1.4.0 update Feb 1st.
And now just today Feb 7th I got notified that 1.7.1 is available and it is in progress.

So there is hope through following that method -> 2 hard reboots and re-schedule the updates every day.
