I've been busy the past month getting my race bikes engine rebuild finished, today picked up fresh racing fuel to complete the stationary heat cycling of the engines rings & bearings, fire in the hole 4/30/2026 @1400 EDT

First round of heat cycling revealed a compromised coolant hose at the thermostat housing, took the Lightning on a 131 mile road trip to pick up the replacement hose and shrink tubing.

Installed new parts tonight, more heat cycles Friday afternoon.

Heat cycles completed, bike is prepared for racing, unfortunately while I was thrashing to complete all tasks today and be ready for 5/2, a text-alert came in that Saturday racing is canceled, rain-out.

I had also been in the process of charging to 100% so that I'd be certain to be ready to roll at 4:30 am, got the trailer cleaned up, all tires including the spares are aired, wheel bearings greased, figured I would take the whole rig for a 30 miles test drive, about half highway and the second half local roads, went from 98% SOC to 83% , ~19.65 kWh resulting in a mixed 1.5 MPK, while on the first leg of 15 miles I was running about 1.1 MPK, which is likely going to be the rate for the full trip to the dragway.

Next event is 5/9.

Also activated EA 25% discount for July, that will help cut costs for the anticipated DCFC sessions at the Tewksbury 350KW site, this location has an 85% max charging limiter, but I only need 80% each visit, one going up to the track, then again on the return trip.
