I will suggest, too, that 'broke down' is not a term to use in this situation, even though you may 'feel' that way, at the moment...

'broke down' might refer to old school vehicles that had a major engine or transmission failure, and, therefore, could not 'move', and had to be towed...

You have stated that you COULD drive the truck, so, therefore, 'broke down' is certainly not applicable, as your thread Headline states...

"...the Lightning told me to pull over immediately ..."
"... I was able to turn the truck back on and drive it for a few minutes..."
"... but then it would give out..."

Being low on battery power, also, is not being 'broke down'
Having multiple alerts or messages is not being 'broke down'
Bringing your truck to a stop, yourself, when a message or alert seems to indicate, is also not being 'broke down'
We also have no idea what "...it would give out" means.

frustrating? yes.
Driver error? maybe.

In these situations, you have to realize that this is a big computer... if it is driving, moving, and otherwise in motion.... CONTINUE moving forward: stopping does nothing.

Any update on this? Did it turn out to be a HV battery cell issue, or possibly one of the motors is having a problem?

I'll try and help here. I'll send you a message and grab some extra info to get your case in front of some experts to get you back in your truck.
Brian, "Not AI,"
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide on that side of the problem.

Call the EV Hotline and start the buyback process. Not that you want them to buy it back but just let them know that the dealer has no estimate on when they will give your truck back. Tell them about having no loaner. Watch this go quicker than you think.
Oh good point. I might try that. Thanks!

Seriously? You have got to be kidding me. If the engine fell out of an ice vehicle and you could still push it down hill is it “broken down?”
The vehicle is broken either temporarily or permanently and the owner was for all purposes stranded. He was luckily able to limp a mile or so back to the hotel but let’s not get pedantic here. The truck was unusable and the owner was looking for advice. Your comment was neither needed nor helpful.

Sure but broken down can mean several different things to different people. For me if a vehicle stop function that way it should, then it is broken down. Even a car without an engine can be pushed.

I'm in for the 12v battery being the problem also, I've seen those things cause some crazy stuff to happen in ice vehicles, can only imagine the amount of gremlins it lets loose in an all electric vehicle.

For all the smart guys, I said my truck broke down, which it did. I was unable to drive it or get it to run for a period of time. I never said it was broken since I was able to drive it a bit more after that happened. I stand by what I said.

After reading this thread and others, I'm wondering what the cost of a backup 12V battery is... I used to keep a backup battery in my old truck (in addition to a jump pack) as there was a slow drain... $89 is cheap insurance that you have a back up for your back up plan. Kinda like in the military when it comes to gear... 2 is 1 and 1 is none.

So do you know what the issue was?
