Windshield wipers completely stopped responding.

My truck did something unusual today. It was just a light sprinkle, so I activated my wipers for a quick wipe.
Nothing happened.

I had convinced myself I was doing something wrong, and wasn’t turning them on properly.

After questioning my sanity more than once, for some reason, decided the switch was defective. I first pulled on the wiper switch before rotating. No difference. Then pushed on the assembly with some force, and it started working as though it was never broken.
Not sure what to make of it, other than an intermittent continuity issue within the switch. ?

I don’t have rain sensing wipers.

The only option available for wipers on my pro is the chuckle inducing “courtesy wipe”

If it does this again, I’ll remember to go to that screen and see if the courtesy wipe is functional.

Based on my 30 seconds of stoplight troubleshooting- it may have been coincidental that it started working when I pushed hard on the stalk/twisting assymbly.
I’m not aware of any recall on my truck for this ?

Wipers stopped working again.
Unlike last time they did this, when they started working again after a minute of so, they’re just dead.
Issue is no longer intermittent. They wont respond at all. We’ve been getting thunderstorms prettt regularly, looks like I’ll be slapping on some rainx until I can get to the dealer.

We had a downpour. As soon as the windshield got wet, the wipers would work.

Edit: Worth noting the button to squirt fluid and wipe is also non-responsive while they are down.

edit 7/11/24. Wipers again non responsive. Now not working in rain either. Every observation appears to be coincidental as to when they work, and don’t work.

They were down for a week or two, I made an appointment with Ford. They started working again the day before I brought it in, and have been working ever since. I cancelled the appointment.
It's still in the back of my head they'll decide to stop someday.
Please let me know if you take it in and find a solution. Apologies- wish I had more info

This Ford is a horror. The windshield wipers don't work, the front camera doesn't work. The ABS stops working in rainy weather. I've already changed it, nothing helped. Yesterday I replaced the 12V battery for $300. The car only has 50,000 kilometers on it.

They were down for a week or two, I made an appointment with Ford. They started working again the day before I brought it in, and have been working ever since. I cancelled the appointment.

That's very disappointing. At least it's under warranty. It sounds like you'll need a loaner- there's a lot to sort out.
Please post an update when u take it in.

I haven't sent it yet. I don't have time for that at all. I have a maximum battery that was supposed to go 500km but actually 250. I also have a Tesla that has a battery 3 times smaller and it goes the same distance as this horrible pickup truck
