Ford slashes prices of 2023 Mustang Mach-E and adds huge incentives for F-150 Lightning

[Excerpt]

Ford F-150 Lightning buyers can take advantage as well
In addition to the lower prices of the Mustang Mach-E, Ford followed up with additional news this morning, sharing it has also added new bonus cash incentives for certain trims of the 2023 F-150 Lightning.

The Lariat, XLT, and Pro versions of the 2023 Lightning currently qualify for a $7,500 retail credit for eligible customers at the point of sale. Still, Ford has added additional bonuses as follows:
  • $7,500 retail bonus cash on an F-150 XLT Extended Range purchase
  • $5,000 retail bonus cash on F-150 Lightning Lariat Standard and Extended Range purchase
  • $12,500 retail bonus cash for the F-150 Lightning Platinum
If US consumers would prefer instead to pursue a lease of a 2023 F-150 Lightning, Ford has added some new offers to help sweeten the deal:
  • $1,500 red carpet lease cash for the XLT
  • $5,000 red carpet lease cash on the Lariat
  • $7,500 red carpet lease cash for a Platinum

They can do better. Ram has dropped up to $18,500 for their (ICE) trucks. You can get a BigHorn for $48K or $12K off and that is before haggling. If EVs are so hard to sell...

Holy Catfish, Batman, they have 110 new Ram 1500s available at Bellingham Dodge! That... seems like a lot.

Anybody thinking about a 2024 should look hard at what’s available now in inventory. The 23s have the fat charger onboard if you can take advantage of it.

And here I am thinking I got a good deal on an XLT ER 10 days ago. If I’d only waited…
You can always go back to the dealer and ask them if there's anything they can do for you. Does your locale offer any sort of buyers remorse period where you can return the vehicle for a refund minus mileage?

Very tempting. I actually went to the dealer today thinking I could save a bunch of money buying a 2023 XLT ER and giving up my 2024 Flash order. But after careful consideration, I decided to stick with the Flash. The difference in price, for me based on the deal I got for my order, was worth the extra for the heat pump, getting the color I wanted, B&O sound, larger screen, etc.
We also thought about a MME to replace our Tesla MYP. But after driving the MME, we decided to keep the Tesla. After selling or trading it in, the price difference would have been close to $20k. The MME just wasn’t worth anywhere near that much to us.

And $1000 on top of that. There is an XLT ER at my dealer that stickers for $72,401. Before the $7500 tax incentive, I could get it on A Plan for $61,151. So $53,651 before taxes after the fed rebate.

Nothing on Pro trim for purchasing so that means I’m out of Lightning shopping.

Dual on board chargers in the 23's is more accurate. Allows us to get 80amp charging over level 2. I believe the 24s will be limited to 40 or 48 amp charging. So if you're using your truck a ton, a 23 makes more sense.

Thank you for the great tool! Here is a scenario, say your calculator estimates DTE at 188 and you are on a road trip. You drive 88 miles but the nearest charge station at that point is 120 miles......You are s....t out of luck?

Yes
Pay attention to the financing rates. My dealer told me that taking a promotional rebate means no promotional low financing rate. Pick one or the other. This stuff changes all the time. And people lie. So ask lots of questions about EVERYTHING before biting.

I too recommend a '23 over a '24 all things considered. 80 amp charging, included FCSP charger, included 9.6kw pro power if in the trim level, 3 years of Blue Cruise if in your trim level. And still less expensive than an identical '24 with their new "Pay more, get less" tactic.
