Invited to F-150 Lightning Drive Experience in San Antonio

I believe there is a 'public' invite, and there are also some of us with 'special' invitation, paid flights, travel, hotel stay, and, yes, the TEST DRIVE experience.... as well as special time with the engineers, marketing team, Ford Execs, etc.

Have you gotten an offer for paid flight/hotel??

I also received the email VIP invite on Friday, but there were no spots available when I clicked on the link about 2 hours after receiving it. Found this thread and decided to dig the email out of my trash folder and now it is showing everyday being available to register. Still not sure it is worth the trip over from Houston just for a "Ride" experience. I got the 30 second pre-production ride in Houston back in October. I think I'm just going to wait for my dealer mannequin experience, that is unless someone has any other information that would make the trip worth it...

Are you under the impression that we’ll be able to drive the truck? Or is just coming to the event, no matter what, worth the drive?

They must have sent that to thousands across TX. Also in Dallas and received it. VIP slots gone by the time I looked. Might have hopped a quick flight, but truly not worth it looking at their list, just replays of the same marketing BS and nothing new other than maybe a chance to drive. I'll get that in a few weeks at my dealer anyway. They've told me they'd reach out when their mannequin arrives.

I’m guessing not many invites made it to the panhandle of Texas…

Simply amazed and love it that someone on there thinks this way and pays attention to or is truly connected to those type of activities. Been many day since I saw a tractor or farm, but truly love knowing that a few amongst us know those activities happen or are a part of them.

Today I received my air and hotel confirmation from Ford. I arrive tomorrow and will spend time with Ford execs Friday followed by a confirmed "test drive" (as opposed to a ride along). Per the Ford spokesperson "...can you believe you’re going to get to test-drive it yourself?!" Can't wait!!!

I have finalized my accommodations to attend this San Antonio event as well. I was in the presence of a Lightning months ago at an auto show, but it was roped off and you could not get within 10 feet of the truck. I genuinely can't wait to get hands on time with the Lightning, some of these other event videos have had me dying for first hand experience!

I know there's a short review embargo, so as long as I don't die in the 104 degree heat visiting the Alamo the day after the event, you'll get a full write up of my first impressions soon.

Do you want to suffer with intolerable heat and humidity? How about tons of old people driving 20mph with their turn signal on? Tons of tourists in rental cars with no idea where they are going? Bugs the size of golf balls? Florida is your answer!!
