I'm ready to pay Ford with points!

Hoping it won't cost more than $500....

I don't disagree it could be running very late on Tesla time, I can't imagine that this adapter is much different than what is built into the Magic Dock. Plus Tesla handles most of their own manufacturing in the NY Giga Factory. I just figure there will be huge demand so they want to have 30 to 40K of them made before they order any kind of order banks. These things should be past ready to ship though.

I wonder if the hold up isn't Ford (and others) getting the SC's integrated into routing etc. They don't need it all up front though. Get me the adapter, I can do my own routing to find the SC and I'm happy to pay for it through the Tesla app vs some other integrated method.
Do forget to check your adapters for bed bugs.

it's still going on because Ford has yet to issue a clarifying comment. " We’re going to ship an adapter to everyone who’s bought a Ford EV " the only way that statement becomes true is if it's free. if there is a price how many ship becomes a function of price.

But another thing I didn't see touched on in this thread. A2Z and Lectron have to realize that few Ford EV owners are going to shell out $200 as long as there is the chance they'll get one for free. So I would think they would be pressuring FORD to issue a clarifying comment. Also as they are about to sell units, it does point to Ford charging for them.
Because all the old discussions didn't cover the exact same points...

Until Tesla and Ford make an announcement I don't trust that any 3rd party will work. Tesla could require a chip or something that authenticates you have a valid adapter. I would support this as they have a very high standard they keep up with and they won't allow just any old 3rd party adapter that may not be up to specs and cause problems while charging.

Why would Ford spend tens of millions of dollars shipping everyone adapters when it wasn’t ever promised when they bought the vehicle nor do they even know if people will use them? It makes no sense.

Please stop applying logic, it is not allowed here.

Because without doing so would cost them future business. CCS is a total failure (in my opinion from my one road trip) compared to NACS. I just did my San Antonio to Tulsa drive that with my 2018 M3 is a 2 stop & charge trip. With the ER Lightning it was a 3 stop 5x as expensive and nowhere near as pleasant charging experience. I had one charger disconnect 3 times and bill a $1 connection fee for each. I had a 200kw listed charger max out a 30kw, and a crowded cramped Walmart EA charge experience. All the Fordpass charging was at 50c/kwh, Tesla supercharging is 35c/kwh for Tesla cars. Do any gas stations have this kind of price discrepancy? On the way back we stopped at the Arlington SC with the magic doc. Other than having to park a few inches from the SC case it was the fastest at connecting (because you do not have to hang out at the charger to hit the OK button). The SC had the thinnest cable and was the only one I did not feel was going to rip out the charge connector from the truck from weight or twist of the cable. I’ll pay immediately for the adapter if it unlocks V3 superchargers.

You began by telling us why Ford will give away adapters, then in your last sentence, you tell us they have no reason to - you’re happy to pay. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Given the short cables at Tesla stations I think I'll wait for an adapter that has an extention.

I am not saying they will but if they do, there must be some sort of membership fee to recoup the cost.

Whoever makes an adapter needs to include a 6ft lead on it so we don’t have to cock block at Tesla chargers.

Frankly unless it is coming with an extension cord, I would much rather they focus on designing a NACS port that is compatible with the current Lightning and Mach-E that I can go pay a dealer to install and move fully to NACS at home and when out any about. 🤷‍♂️
