Havent noticed my mirror but that grill isnt OEM, its been sprayed gloss black. The OEM grill is a matte color. Maybe your mirror caps are also sprayed?

The chips on the grille are normal. It's a bad design in my opinion. Not covered under warranty.

The chipping on the mirror caps is unusual. My truck goes through the carwash on average of at least once a week and doesn't have a single chip in that location. Is your truck exposed to contact with anything in that area?

Under 10k miles and I have several chips on my Platinum grille - I mentioned it to the service advisor and he said ā€œrock chipsā€ to which my reply was ā€œwhy then are there only rock chips on the grille and not on any other part of the front of the truck?ā€ He just shrugged. šŸ˜’

Im experiencing same issue. 900 miles on a 2024 carbonized gray platinum.
Dealer agreed to respray. Did a poor job on one mirror and forgot to do the other haha

On my 23 Platinum, they covered replacing the grille under warranty because the film was bubbling up in an area away from where there were rock chips. I would be interested to know if anyone has a good solution for protection or a replacement that is more durable, since I am guessing this will become an ongoing issue?

Nope. It’s garage kept and ceramic coated, so I would say generally well taken care of.

Same. Has anyone had luck getting the dealer to do anything. Surly others have this same issue. Kicking myself for not doing PPF. The grill is only going to get worse. My biggest complaint is the bottom trim that is below the bumper. That is flaking off like crazy. After 1 year. Looks bad.

Anyone have suggestions?

That’s what mine looks like, but it’s too dark, and raining, to take pics. Let’s just say that Service shrugged and said ā€œWe will file a complaint with Ford but don’t know if it’ll go anywhere.ā€ It may take enough of us complaining about it for something to be done.

I’m considering a wrap for these areas - if they won’t fix it, I can at least hide it. I’ll probably do a paint correction and PPF on the hood lip and side mirrors, as they get a LOT of bug splatters, and are hard to remove well.

Plan to do the same soon. I never followed through when I was looking at doing it when I first got the truck over a year ago. Lesson learned for sure on all next vehicles to just do it to safe guard. Crazy how easily it flakes off. Design flaw for sure on the material used.
