I have the Tesla adaptor that Ford provided but so far I haven't been able to get it to work. Is there a tutorial thread that explains the play-by-play we have to follow to charge the F150 Lightning at a Tesla charger? I have two Tesla Model S (2013 and 2017) and both cars have unlimited supercharging. I do have a CC connected to my Tesla app, which they require even if you're unlimited. I know Tesla isn't going to give me power to the F150 without a way to bill for it. I looked for ways to add the F150 to my Tesla app but couldn't figure it out. Can anyone help me understand this process?

Also, I have a 100A high powered wall charger at my office. Is there a way to use the adapter with the HPWC? I tried plugging it in and it didn't work.

Thanks to all of you for being a great resource.

I think you either need plug-and-charge enabled on your truck (in which case you can't get the Tesla discount) or you have to initiate the charge from the Tesla app before plugging in. Just open the Tesla app, select Charge my non-Tesla, pick a charger and a stall, plug the adapter into the NACS plug, then plug into your truck, and it will start.

The supercharger adapter will not work on level 2 (240 V) charging, only on DCFC.

Oh, and to stop the charge, first push the little button near the charge port of the truck, wait till it turns white (I think), then unplug the adapter from the truck, then unplug the adapter from the NACS handle.

Thank you for that quick response! I will try that out at one of the superchargers identified as a "NACS Partner" site on the app. Bummer I can't use my HPWC with it, but I guess that makes sense.

Also make sure your truck / account is signed up for the blue oval network. https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...ow-do-i-activate-the-blueoval-charge-network/
Unless you want the discounted Tesla rate. If you have blue oval active, it will default to the Tesla outside network rate (I think). For me, when I am on a road trip, I turn off blue oval plug-and-charge off, pay Tesla $12/month for the in-network rate, and then get the cheaper Tesla rates. But the plug-and-charge is super convenient!

So this should work with my Tesla HPWC (100A/240V) charger?

The high powered wall charger (HPWC) delivers 80A from a 100A circuit breaker.

Cool! I will try that for my office charger. I may have to set the charge rate down but at least it would allow me to add charge quickly at my office.

If you have a 2023 or older Lightning ER it should charge up to 80:amps. The 2024+ Lightning Extended Range will only charge up to 48 amps.

This L2 adapter is rated for 80 amps and should work at your office 100 amp circuit Tesla Wall Connector to charge your 2023 Lightning ER at 80 amps.

The tesla app basically gives you a tutorial every time you start the charging process

The high powered wall charger (HPWC) delivers 80A from a 100A circuit breaker.
You need an L2 adapter for this to work. The Tesla DCFC adapter will not work since that is only for Tesla Superchargers.

The HPWC must support the J1772 protocol (most newer ones do).

Make sure you get an adapter that is certified for at least 80 amps since your 2023 will draw up to 19.2kw L2. 2024 onwards only needs to support 48 Amps. Something like this would work. https://a2zevshop.com/products/a2z-stellar-plug
