hello I have a 2022 lightning platinum, while driving at night a new issue has recently started with my high beams. As i come out of a left turn on a curve or go around a right hand curve my brights flicker or twitch. This does not happen going straight or left, this does happen with regular headlights. The lights are auto switch from low to high but the flicker happens on a dark road with no oncoming traffic. This is not the automatic hi/low switching. Has anyone else seen this issue and had it diagnosed. I am worried that it is the beginning of a worse problem

The headlights bend when turning. The lighting portion physically moves. My guess is that maybe there's a poor connection that gets jostled when they move.

Have you owned this truck since new? What color is the automatic headlight icon in the dash display, green or white?

If you purchased used or if it's a Canada truck, it may be the glare free lighting activated by the previous owner with Forscan, or if it's a Canada truck it may not have not been switched to US spec. A green icon would mean it's in glare free.

If the auto headlight icon is white, then I agree with @RocketGhost and @The Weatherman , bad bending mechanism or some bad pixels in the led headlight matrix.

To piggyback, are you saying that it's normal for some flickering if glare free/matrix headlights enabled?

Edit to add:
I'm asking because I've only really driven once at night since I activated via Forscan and I noticed some flickering at times, especially visible on road signs.

If the sign reflection gets read by the IPMA as a light source, those pixels will shut off. Once that happens, there's no light because it's a reflection, so the pixel turns back on. Can look like flickering I guess.

Since glare free is turning individual pixels on and off depending on what the cameras are seeing, it can look like flickering.

I've driven with the glare-free for nearly 3 years and I can't say I've noticed any flickering. It will fade out the area with a reflective sign but it is more of a fade than a flicker and I rarely notice it around corners.
The glare-free system is not the same as auto-high beams - On the Canadian trucks, you don't have the auto-high beam option. @christopher cali, if your Forscan activation of glare-free still allows the auto high beams to be turned on, perhaps turn it off since it might be interfering with the glare-free sytem and you shouldn't need it with glare-free on.

OP seems to have disappeared.

The OP doesn't say anything about glare free lights, I just brought it up as a possibility if he purchased a used truck, it could have glare free activated by a PO or if it was an imported Canadian truck.

I agree that glare free doesn't look like "flickering", but to someone that doesn't know, that may be the only description they have for what is going on.

I have owned the truck since new no for scan modifications have been done. This did not used to happen. I’ve only noticed it the last couple of weeks.

Sounds like bad mechanism or pixels in the headlight. Should be a warranty replacement if you're still eligible.

Ugh... I know what th OP is talking about... I noticed what he is describing a few months ago but have been so busy I haven't had time to dive into it.. 23 Larriot and it does it both right hand and left hand turning... more so when as one poster noted when it see a reflection then the reflection disappears... No forscan mods.. I do think it started after an update I just don't remember which one...

Try turning off Auto-high beam and see if the problem goes away. If you pick a known corner where you get the flicker, try the corner again with Auto-high beams off and just the low beam and then high beam. That might rule out headlight issues vs. software issues. Maybe an update is causing the auto-high beam to do goofy things and Ford should be notified.

Both my '22 & '23 Lariet ER's exhibit the flickering after doing the anti-glare modification. Didn't notice any of that previously. I like the mod, just wished it worked under 29 mph.

Do you still have the Auto-High beam switch on? Maybe try turning it off. Anti-Glare does not require high-beam.
