Great guide. Can the stock vapor barrier be reused?

Just go slow with peeling off and press back on with something that you can roll across the butyl gasket material. And if you preheat the metal or if it's warm out it will stick even better.

In the first post you mention Thinsulate between the roof and headliner, but almost all the rest of the discussion is about the doors. I have a question about the headliner. How did you get the headliner down? I've watched a video that showed how, but it was from a older F-150. Almost everything has changed in my 2024 Flash vs that video.

How do I remove the door panels?

Did you do anything to the A or B pillars?

What about the area under the wheel/bottom of A-pillar?

I am just searching for the areas with most impact on dampening the outside sound. While the engine noise is spectacular, the road, wind and rain noise is quite loud.

A great guide on how to remove the door panels....

The pillars have some thinsolate already and the A pillar has air bags.

The issues with sound deadening/dampening is every time you treat an area it will highlight another that is lacking. It will never be perfect.

Completing all the doors will have the greatest impact, including tire/road noise.
It will move the noise infiltration up to the glass. You could easily pull back the inside front wheel well carpet and sound barrier and add a tile of butyl sound dampener, but I did not find that necessary. The "firewall" and front wheel well from the outside are well covered.

Wind noise will always be an issue unless you are listening to music.

Tire/road noise can be further diminished by the tire you are using but too many other trade-offs...

Rain will always be a sound issue. I still can't get over the slap of water on the running boards. If I drove a lot more I probably would pull of the end cap of the running boards and fill with great stuff big gap foam.

A great soundproofing / music-improving product for doors is the door blocking-off panels for the large inner door hole, at www.soundsgoodstereo.com. I added my blocking-off panels right over the water vapor plastic barrier, as its edge goo helps to seal the block-off panels against the metal.

I did the doors this weekend. Amazon Basic (Dynamat) on the inside of the outer skin, and on the inner skin around the blocking plates. And on the inside of the door cover itself. And added some thinsulate.

The wheels noise did improve some, but not as much as I hoped.

But the storage and cup holders in the doors now feel way more classy. I wrapped them from the backside with "Dynamat", and no more cheap plastic sounds. I need to do the other cup holders and storage spaces too.

Tried to to the big dash storage box, but the front and back seems glued or melted together.
