If you can get the bigger (80a) charger do so, it's better to derate a larger charger than run one at its highest potential all the time. Think of it like a car with a 4cyl turbo and compare it to a car with a v8 non turbo .They both have similar power output but that little turbo engine has to work twice as hard where the v8 does it not even breathing heavy.

As an owner of a 2023 Lariat ER you can take advantage of 80 amp chargers. That is assuming that your electrical service has enough headroom to accommodate it. An electrician will be able to tell you. The 80 AMP chargers require a 100a dedicated circuit to deliver 80 amps to the vehicle.

It's not that expensive and it's Canadian made with excellent reported reliability.

The current limit is set with DIP switches buy the installer to match the max amperage of the circuit it is connected to. Their user APP has a slider to set the current limit lower if needed for a charging session, and set it up to the current limit of the DIP switch settings.

What is my charge time with a 48A charger vs an 80A charger? That would help make the decision. Provided I can actually GET an 80A circuit, that is.

First you need a 100 amp circuit to power an 80 amp charger.

Like I tell everyone, It takes me 10 seconds to charge my EV. That is the time it takes ME to plug it in. By morning it fully charged regardless of what rate I change it at.

To replenish a 131 kWh ER battery the 85 kWh's from 15% to 80% (0.65x131=85kWh) it roughly takes:

• 8.0 hrs at 48 amps
• 4.75 hrs at 80 amps

FYI, I took delivery of a 2025 Lightning 2 weeks ago today and this week I received as my "Power Promise" charger the Emporia Classic 48A charger.

Yeah, I’ve had the Ford Pass app since I bought the truck.
I think it’s the signal.

First, try powering it off for a few minutes then back on.
Not sure about your station but you had to set up the other ones with another app first to the WiFi and then to fordpass.
Signal strength is incredibly important here.

Bingo! I just happened to have an extra WiFi range extender, so I got that up and running, then I had to enter the station info manually and that seems to have done the trick.
I think everything is working properly.

Do I use the Ford Connect app for anything other than the connection?

Pretty much, yes. Use the FordPass app.

Got mine installed yesterday. Two electricians were here for three and a half hours putting it in. It works fantastic and charges my truck at between 10 and 11 KW. I really like it.

Didn't take the wife long to pile stuff up around it though!

Wasn't there guy on youtube who punched out a section of his garage wall to make his truck fit? It was just enough to fit the front end, up to the wheels.

Yeah, I think I'd end up in the same scenario that WXman has. I took the measurements someone gave for the truck length and it looks like I'd have that same TINY clearance. And that's if I didn't have a fridge and a bunch of other stuff that I realistically can't move anywhere else.
