Is anyone getting more miles per charge? I had it for 3 years and it seems im getting more as it it gets older?

You're not getting more miles per charge. When you charge, you're getting kilowatts of electricity, stored in your battery, which has 131kWh of storage, less any degradation during your ownership. The range shown is a GUESSTIMATE, based on your past driving. If you want that number to go even higher, simply drive 25mph for a few hundred miles. If you want to show that it's a useless number, get on the highway and drive 75mph for 3 hours and see what it works out to.

A USEFUL number is stored in the trip odometers, i.e. Trip 1 and Trip 2, which shows you the miles per kilowatt hour that you have been achieving since the last reset. Since you have been driving slow, your efficiency will be higher than those that don't drive slow. My lifetime is 1.8 or so, which works out to a range of 236 with the ER battery, going about 73mph in various climates and topography.

I drive at at least 75 everyday, 100 miles and a couple of days 200 miles. The only time I drive under 50 mph is when I'm home and doing chores.

Yep I'm seeing the same thing. And guys constantly tell me "get on the highway and see what happens." But I'm on the highway daily. Including 70 MPH speed limit roads. And my lifetime average is 2.8 mi/kWh so far. So I don't know what to tell them.....

But yes, first time I charged to 100% I got 314 miles of range. Yesterday it was 331. It keeps going up.

That is what I do. In my truck, Trip 1 was reset at 17 miles (about 10 miles before I took delivery). I leave there so I can see lifetime. In my just over 10K miles I have an average of 2.3 Mile/KWH. Trip two I use for trips - so far just long day trips, but I will have several multi-day trips in the next month or so.

Everything looks better in the early fall summer warmth. I’ve recorded several 100 mile commutes in 350+ miles of range (estimate) based on 2.5-2.6 miles/kWh. A 2.7 mi/kWh rare. Usually no-wind morning with 72+ afternoons with… a tailwind and sub 50 mph “traffic”.

I still find the G.O.M. Discussions “insanely nuts” as many of us fondly remember fuel gauges like the one below.

One day in the fall of 1973 heading home from college, I drove my ‘62 Bug (w/“big bore kit”) 52+ miles on “R” =‘s “reserve” because I had about a 25 cents in my pocket and no stations were open after 8 pm as I rolled south on US101. The logarithmic nature of the gauge defied interpretation. Usually that left the gas pump and in my case, the fuel tank took exactly 10 gallons the next morning because it was on “fumes” lol! Many drivers literally knew a fuel gauge’s accuracy to the tip of a needle. We all drove a vehicle to a gallon or 1/2 gallon depending on risk tolerance.

The max range on the Bug was 360 miles with 320-330 more common. Laguna Beach CA to home was 1226 miles and 35 gallons. If I left with a full tank, only took $25 to get home! Crazy as that price seems impossibly cheap as it went up as the years passed.

With the Lightning having less energy density and more efficiency it is quite sensitive to energy use and while I’m curious about “efficiency“ I sure don’t fret about it as it does everything I ask and more. Our cheap power (2.4 cents per kWh) results in an order of magnitude reduction in energy costs. Current gas prices at 4.60 dollars per gallon turns into a $20-$22 savings per day over a typical 22 mpg truck rolling 90-10 miles per day and the Lightning typically has a 75 mpge energy use... which is insane for a brick with a weight = 2+ Bugs.

At its worst, probably at 40 mpge! Right there in hybrid Maverick territory. I just enjoy the truck knowing that it’s efficient and relatively inexpensive (so far…) to operate.

I’ve learned some hilarious nuanced outcomes. Keeping the cab comfortable at 69-70 degrees F costs about about 25 cents per day (weather dependent of course and keeping windows fog free a big part of that). Many days in 30’s hover around freezing. Lucky I don’t live in a frozen flyover state.

The gauge below is typical of a 60’s VW Bug. I concluded that it has an infinite tank volume and calculus needed. Domestic trucks had 5 hash marks. If a friend asked how far we could go I’d say “enough”. Three passengers rummaging for coin could rustle up 1$ which is like nearly 5+ gallons during a local gas war. 5 gallons could equal 170-175 miles if driven “carefully“. Doing math in your head easy but damned if it’s easy now! I just drive knowing at the end of the day it’s just a machine… a fascinating machine.

More so for 22-23 models, they have resistive heating that sucks up the watts, 24-25 have heat pumps, much more efficient although the rear defrost, seats, mirrors, steering wheels are still resistive.
