What hardware is missing? They have the same 15.5” screen.
The antennas for approach-based unlock, etc different door handles. Theres a harness change inside the door card. This is all from reading people who retrofitted it.

They didn't include it because they could save some money by not, it's not like it's software locked on the flash and below.

If I was going to be locked in to HAVING to get the ER battery, it would have made it unaffordable for me...and i would not be here, or driving a fantastic truck now...
Well then it's going to be interesting to see what the price is now going forward compared to what you paid for yours.

I have zero desire to use my phone as a key, because I have a key, but it does seem very odd to me that the Flash trim wouldn't have that feature. Flash was specifically marketed as the "tech forward" trim level.

Yeah it was disappointing finding out mine didn’t have that. I assume the flash trim was designed before marketing got a hold of it and slapped “tech forward” on it.

The flash is still a Budget Trim at the end of the day. Lariat and Platinum has always been where you get the goodies.

I liked highway driving better without Blue Cruise. I didn't even use it much during my trial on my 2024 Flash. Too many nagging things. Seemed to be a little more sensitive; too sensitive. I really didn't notice much when it was just on regular cruise and lane keep etc.

I don't think I could ever just trust FSD. I'm aware that Blue Cruise is not that. But I just like letting the assisted driving sort of show me how to take some curves. I just kind of help it; but I can't take my attention from it for long anyhow.

I absolutely hate the lane centering cruise. I have to actively wiggle the wheel and make the truck wobble on the road to get the darn 'keep your hands on the wheel' warnings to go away.

I just wish it was better at knowing I DO in fact have both hands on the wheel without needing me to make the truck wobble at 70 miles an hour.

Meanwhile, BlueCruise... yeah I'm gonna pay for it. My drive to/from work is about 40 miles each way on I-10. That can be an hour there and 2 hours back depending on traffic. Blue cruise is available for like 90% of that and it does an amazing job most of the way. It only doesn't work at all where there is some construction and no lines on the road.

There's a few small sections going to work where it searches a bit too much left to right and I end up taking control. But also when I've tried BlueCruise off and lane centering on, it did the same thing.
The only other issue is that when it does the in-lane repositioning and moves over for a Semi, it starts moving back to center before I've finished passing the semi. So have to watch out for that.

Overall though, I really do like it. I wish it were cheaper.
My truck is on a lease, and I'll either get another one when it is up, or maybe a mach-e.. I'll pre-pay for the bluecruise at that time. wasn't an option this time.

The order sheets are interesting.

Frankly, the STX is really looking like a good buy and Ford included a few options that would have been easy to leave off (i.e. box link cleats and underseat storage)

A few things caught my attention. Granted a few are well known or are known carryovers from previous years.

Pro
  • Minimum battery: 123 kWh
  • Mentions “heavy-duty front shocks” (unclear if Pro-only, probably not)
  • Standard running boards
  • 131 kWh battery + 80A charging includes 20” wheels (18s optional)
  • 131 kWh battery + 80A charging also requires Max Tow and Pro Power 9.6 kW; with 48A charging it does not
  • Optional tailgate step and tailgate work surface
  • Mirrors: non-heated, non-power, no spotlight (possible downgrade from 2025?)

STX
  • Box cleats (mentions 4 "additional" tie-downs)
  • Power pedals
  • Underseat storage
  • Hill descent control + rear locker standard
  • 360° camera (STX and up)
  • Optional phone-as-a-key (includes door keypad)
  • Optional rubber flooring
  • Optional tailgate step and work surface

Flash
  • Fleet only Optional 131 kWh battery + 80A charging (cannot combine with A/T tires)
  • Optional PAAK

Lariat
  • Lowest trim for interior work surface
  • Pro and Flash can* get 80A charging; Lariat and Platinum cannot
*provided you can get fleet orders

Remember that anything listed as Standard on the Pro is generally included in higher trims and thus not explicitly stated In those trims. Like heated seats, etc.

Seems like some good changes happened but what happened to Adding the Tesla Nacs for charging and it seemed a little silly to delete the USB plugs in the Frunk. What was that a 50 cent option.
I would prefer a 12v socket in the frunk over USB-C, but I guess we'll get neither now.

I'm super jealous that flash is getting the hardware keypad back and a PAAK option. PAAK was the one big thing I wanted that almost pushed me to Lariat, but it wasn't worth the extra $10k or whatever for that one feature.
