There is another owner in Alaska on the forum, @Bandit216, maybe he might have some suggestions?

What codes is it reporting now? If your Fordpass is connected, message me the VIN and I can check them.

Can you have the truck on a trailer on the ferry? You could still get it into neutral with the fault

For the first three weeks I could not get it in neutral. When I went to the Vehicle tab, scrolled down to the Emergency Tow line, it was grayed out, and not available. Several days ago, that changed, and now I seem to be able to. I am trying to work with the Alaska Marine Highway system to see if they will allow it on board, up on a trailer, transport truck, or in a shipping container. So far not. I think if someone @Ford.com would write something promising the battery won’t blow up, it could help.

I wonder what if you disconnect the ER battery like I saw on the video of swapping SR to ER battery if that would be approved on a trailer or some other transport.

Got your message, but posting here so anyone else can provide insight. There are a bunch of codes, but they're mostly stored codes caused by the root problem. These are the problem codes:

As we all probably already suspected, I don't think this is an easy fix that a battery disconnect or reset of anything will fix. This needs to be addressed by the dealer, which brings us full circle to the problem where that is not an easy task. Mobile techs are not EV certified, but even if the dealer were to send an EV tech over to you, I don't think the tech would have the resources needed to fix this in the back of a van.

I'm talking about disconnecting the High Voltage battery only for transport. In the video where they are swapping a standard range battery with an extended battery one of the steps is doing that. The Ferry company might reconsider transporting truck on a trailer with the High Voltage battery disconnected.

Would certainly be convenient if they'd just let him pull/secure the emergency disconnect but doubt that'd convince them that it won't try to randomly end the world.

Man, I would be trying to find a way to eliminate that heater fault through a creative means.

Can you use Forscan to code out the heater like you can seats in the cab? I do this to eliminate seat belt reminder.

I would try to find the wiring harness plug that goes to the heater and unplugging. Anything similar that could eliminate the heater fault and get the Lightning driving again.

Not gonna lie, I'd be tempted in that scenario if it were somewhere warm. But for OP, being kinda stuck in limbo, it might not help because I think I've heard of 3 failed PTCs, but I'd start tracing the heater wires if possible, may get lucky.

Then shipping by barge was the good choice. On 9/1/25 they announced because of safety concerns they would no longer. Put the three Tesla owners and three Lightning owners, in town, on notice. The car transport ship that burned and sank by Dutch Harbor with 400 EV’s on board final nail.

I wish I could help in some way..

If this were me.. I would disconnect the PTC heater. Its a HV module BUT I am fairly sure you could do it safely if you disable the HV system First.. All you need to do is disconnect the HV connector and leave it alone. If you have some way to take it up so it doesnt arc to something..

That would be the only way I see you getting moving for now. Isolation fualts will disable the battery for safety..

Now if anyone on here that knows better can tell me if Im completley wrong here..

Looking at the workshop manual the PTC heater is accessible.. under the frunk.
