For the best shot, straight from the owners manual, 12" screen
EMERGENCY TOWING - VEHICLES WITH: 12 INCH SCREEN

If your vehicle becomes inoperable without access to wheel dollies or a vehicle transport trailer, it can be flat-towed with all wheels on the ground, under the following conditions:
Your vehicle is facing forward for towing in a forward direction.
You switch Emergency Tow on.
Maximum speed is 35 mph (56 km/h).
Maximum distance is 50 mi (80 km).
Switching Emergency Tow On
Properly secure your vehicle to the tow vehicle.
Switch your vehicle on to accessory mode. See Starting and Powering Off.
Apply the parking brake.
Press Settings.
Press Vehicle.
Press and hold Emergency Tow until a confirmation message appears on the touchscreen.
Press and hold the brake pedal.
Shift into neutral (N).
Note: A confirmation message appears in the instrument cluster.
Release the parking brake.
Switch your vehicle off.
Note: Power is required for this procedure and requires the 12V battery to be charged.
Switching Emergency Tow Off
Switch your vehicle on.
Press and hold the brake pedal.
Shift into park (P).A message displays in the instrument cluster and park (P) displays in the instrument cluster and on the shifter.
Umm...

You can't do ANY of that unless the 12v is active...

He says the dash works despite the errors so I'd guess the 12v is working.
"but my concern is it cannot go into neutral so is there harm in dragging the electric motors when locked in park"

AI Overview

Moving a car with locked axle wheels or seized brakes requires lifting the immobile wheels off the ground using
wheel dollies (such as GoJaks or hydraulic dollies) or a flatbed tow truck. For short distances, you can jack up the affected wheels, place them on dollies, and safely roll the vehicle.
Primary Methods to Move a Car with Locked Wheels:
  • Wheel Dollies/GoJaks: These are the most effective method. Place individual dollies under the locked wheels to lift them, allowing the car to be rolled. GoJaks are specifically designed to lift wheels off the ground, even with frozen brakes or axles, using a foot pedal.
  • Flatbed Towing: A flatbed tow truck is the preferred professional method, as they can winch the vehicle onto the bed without needing the wheels to turn.
  • Jack Stands and Dollies: Jack up the car, place it securely on jack stands (ensure they are on a stable surface, perhaps using plywood), and place wheel dollies under the affected tires.
  • Dragging/Skidding: If the car must be moved immediately and dollies are unavailable, you can drag the car, but this may cause significant damage to the road surface and the vehicle.
Alternative Considerations:
  • Identify the Cause: Determine if the issue is a broken axle, seized brakes, or a transmission issue. If it is seized brakes, you may be able to remove the wheel and address the brakes directly.
  • Positioning: If the front wheels are locked, use a dolly to lift the front. If rear wheels are locked, lift the rear, especially if it is a front-wheel-drive car.
  • Safety First: Never work under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper dollies or jacks rated for the vehicle's weight.
  • For Locked Steering: If the steering wheel is locked, try wiggling it gently while turning the key to release the steering column lock.

A repo professional can get it done in under 2 minutes, I watched him do it, although it was a rear wheel drive car....

There might be a way to "hot wire" the park pawl solenoid.

I haven't seen OP mention he tried the tow emergency neutral or whatever it was called. The truck detects a problem and has locked the gear selector. It stands to reason that the procedure I mentioned would override the gear selector to allow neutral selection, otherwise what was the point of even adding it?

I try putting into gear to move it repeatedly but shifter is locked and about ever 10-15 start button tries I get it to shift but no reaction from pedal
heavily implies but does not confirm that he is only attempting to move the lever and not the override.

I had a very similar issue just like this a few weeks ago. My truck threw a lot of errors and would not start. I also could not get it out of park. I called a tow truck, and he simply got his dollies out and got it under the front wheels. The truck barely moved. My issue was a bad battery. A week prior to this incident my first battery died. I got it to the dealer and they put in a new battery under warranty. It died three days later again. The symptoms this time around behaved differently. In the end, the new battery they put in was bad. The tow truck operator used a dolly that looked like this:

And did one of you attempt the tow emergency neutral? Or solely the shifter?

We could not activate the emergency neutral and the shifter was unmovable.
That effectively makes it's only point to make it stay in neutral when you open the door, not useless but pretty close

Dollies need to be place under the rear wheel only in this situation, the parking pawl is ONLY on the rear drive motor.

Not if they lift the rear wheels to tow, and dollies under the front.

As I have been saying. You have to be able to shift.

You didn't though, did you? I made an assumption, that a feature titled emergency tow would, I don't know, actually let someone do that. There is no physical linkage to a transmission, its effectively a complicated button so it wasn't an unreasonable assumption, however incorrect.
