The Norwegian cars with EU navigation will not receive any OTAs, so we are still on 2023 software.

So if your OTAs stop after installing the new APIM we know why :)

As you’re saying, maybe I’m actually lucky that my new APIM hasn’t arrived yet, even though I ordered it almost a month ago.
I’m hoping that by the time it arrives and I install it, the truck will have already received all the pending updates.
Honestly, the best scenario would be if it could automatically switch to EU maps on its own — similar to some Teslas imported from the US that eventually receive European maps after some time. That would be perfect. I just hope I have that kind of luck.

Is the us apim expensive? Maybe we should buy one for the Norwegian trucks and pass along to get updates?

I bought mine from the UK, using the part number recommended by Ford Norway.
The APIM I purchased is actually from a Ford Ranger. So in theory, it should be fully compatible hardware-wise. Now it’s just a matter of how Ford handles the region/software side.

If you install that APIM and it is on different software than what your truck has, there will be mismtaching data between the server and the truck and cause issues with the OTA process.

What is it that you want to accomplish by swapping the APIM?

"The reason I want to swap the APIM is because I want to use the vehicle's native navigation to calculate mileage and range.

Nope, no any programming or other stuff after sim replacement (if we talking about factory tcu from USA with replaced sim). But I recommend to try replace tcu from EU vehicle, if it doesn't help, then return back your factory TCU and replace Sim.
Adapter https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_EQnGne8
And a bit more photos with replaced sim
Not my work)
And some electricans used ground from another place on the board, but it doesn't matter using it from place with my wiring diagram or from those which on photos below

The problem with this method is that putting in a TCU that doesn't belong to the vehicle can cause issues with the back end server data. If the TCU that gets swapped in is not the same part number or has different firmware on it, it will cause issues with future updates via OTA or FDRS. The APIM, GWM and TCU (sometimes the IPC) need to be updated in a certain order. So if the TCU you put in the vehicle is on older or newer firmware than the one you swapped out, you end up creating a bottleneck effect. If the TCU is a different part number than the one in the vehicle, the server will not recognize it and the update files it serves up for the truck will not match; causing updates to fail and prevent future updates for the Sync modules. The safest way to prevent these issues is to use the TCU it came with.
Hi, just to update you — today I installed the European TCU that I bought from the UK (original Ford module from a Ranger). Everything started working immediately.
The vehicle connected to the network without any programming or configuration. I only installed the TCU and performed a reset, and it activated automatically. After a few minutes I received a notification in FordPass that the vehicle was ready to connect.
Now FordPass is fully working and the truck shows a 5G/LTE connection. So in my case the TCU swap caused no backend issues and the system works normally

Sounds good Sahit.
Does it still do OTA updates with the new TCU?
For the moment, I believe so. I just installed the TCU today. I think the updates will start coming in again very soon. I also have a request: does anyone have the APIM diagram? I need to replace it as well since I bought it from the same Ford Ranger.

This is a final update regarding the APIM replacement. I installed the European APIM unit that I purchased in the UK from a Ford Ranger.
After installation and turning on the screen, the display appeared distorted because the Ford Ranger uses a smaller screen. The only thing I needed to do was connect with FORScan, go into APIM AsBuilt (Edge), and select Load Factory Settings. After that, the screen returned to normal.
The navigation is now working perfectly and everything is fully completed.
Thank you all for your support
