Seems like I have a mix. Build date is 3-20-25 for 2025 Flash. Equipment group 312A. Standard is the 131 KWH battery and also the tailgate with step and work surface. However I didn't have the spare tire and jack. I looked at a thread that listed Job 2 build order date as starting on 1-8-25 but maybe I didn't get far enough to see when they shut down the line and made the changes. Dealer got me a spare tire and jack off another vehicle on the lot.

Hey Dude. I see you list your 25 Flash with 131 KWH battery as a Job 1. I've seen others as a Job 2. I have the 25 Flash with the same battery. What is the deal with the Job numbers and how do I tell what I have?

Generally speaking, "Job 1" refers to the initial production run for the model year. In many cases, Ford will make minor tweaks to the vehicle design (such as adding or removing features, updating software, etc.) during a model year. So "Job 2" refers to the later production run that incorporates these changes.

Specific to your Flash:

• 2025 Job 1 has a 131kWh extended-range battery with 320 EPA combined miles
• 2025 Job 2 has a 123kWh extended-range battery with 300 EPA combined miles.

I'm wondering if that Chicago Auto Show window sticker for the Ramcharger was just some place holder nonsense. I thought the price of the Grand Wagoneer EREV that recently got announced was ~$80k which is right in Lariat/Plat territory on the blue oval side of things.

With the amount of recalls Ford has now, can't wait to see an erev.

What possible difference would it make. Ford has been ignoring recalls this past year. I have two recalls, one light bar, and one parking brake that have been active for months with the only response being Ford "kicking the can down the road". Haven't seen an OTA update in so long I can't remember when. It's like us BEV LIghtning owners are now orphan children. NOW, they want us to buy their EREV or their new line of midsize EV truck. I absolutely love my Lightning, but I would have to think long and hard before I would consider buying another Ford EV product if this is how they treat their customers; cut them off at the knees and leave them abandoned to fend for themselves. I just hope my '22 hangs together...

I’m coming to you today with an update on our product roadmap. There has been a lot of speculation recently and we just went live with some news. So, I want to give you the facts straight from Ford, explain what is changing, and more importantly, why.

With the F-150 Lightning, we proved an electric truck could be a hit, and it has remained the best-selling electric pickup. Let’s be real about what we’ve learned from you, the owners, and the market over the last few years. You love the electric performance, smoothness, and the tech, but for those that drive long distances, take frequent trips or tow heavy loads across state lines often, an F-150 Lightning might not be the truck for them. And we want it to be.

We took a bet, produced an amazing product that so many people love, and now we’re making adjustments in response to evolving market realities, consumer preferences, and the regulatory environment. No one could have predicted how the EV landscape would change in the U.S., which has impacted the industry.
That is why our next-generation F-150 Lightning will be an EREV. 100% electric power delivery, sub-5-second acceleration – and adds an estimated 700+ mile range with locomotive-like towing capability. That is a game-changer for our customers. Like the current F-150 Lightning, the next-gen version will also offer exportable electricity that can power everything from work sites to camp sites to homes during a power outage.

For those who aren’t familiar with EREVs, this isn't a traditional plug-in hybrid. This is an electric vehicle with an on-board generator. It’s designed to give you the electric capability you enjoy around town, but with the range and towing confidence of a gas truck when you’re hauling a boat or camper. It will be assembled right here in Dearborn at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center.

What this means for the current generation F-150 Lightning and “T3” truck​

Production of the current generation of F-150 Lightning will end this year, and we have also made the decision to no longer produce the next-generation full-size electric truck, also known as “T3”. For those that still wish to purchase a MY25 F-150 Lightning, we have good inventory and interested customers can purchase from dealer stock.

If you have an order in, or were waiting on one, please contact your dealer immediately to see if your vehicle will be built or if they can match you to an existing stock unit.

As for existing Lightning customers who might be coming off lease or looking or a new Lightning, we are looking at the following:

• Assist early adopters to purchase or lease a new 25MY Lightning
• Offering extensions to customers who wish to extend their leases beyond the original term
• Providing dealer support to help match customer with available inventory

What about support for my current F-150 Lightning?​

I know reading "production is ending" can be nerve-wracking for current owners. I want to be clear: We are committed to ensuring ongoing support of your vehicle’s software updates, quality and experience. Like all vehicles, we will maintain parts and service for 10 years. The team is not walking away from the current F-150 Lightning, and I’m not going anywhere.

The Ford Universal EV Platform​

While we shift F-150 Lightning to EREV, we are absolutely maintaining our plans and investment in the next generation of affordable EVs. The new Universal EV (UEV) platform is now more important than ever for Ford. UEV platform development is well underway. This flexible architecture will underpin a new family of smaller, more affordable, and cost-efficient vehicles—starting with a midsize pickup in 2027.

There is no impact to Mustang Mach-E. Mustang Mach-E is a great success story and is now available in almost 60 markets across the globe. It continues to be a standout electric SUV and plays an important role in the portfolio.

Other News: Battery Technology​

We are also making moves to make our business more sustainable. We are repurposing our Kentucky battery plant to build large-scale battery storage systems (for grid and industrial use), and our Michigan plant will be focusing on prismatic LFP cells. The same Michigan plant will be ramping up production in 2026 to power the new midsize electric truck built on our new Universal EV Platform.

Ford has been in manufacturing for over a century. We understand power management, thermal systems, safety engineering, and large-scale manufacturing. Our licensed LFP prismatic technology is proven, and our brand represents long-term accountability critical for 20+ year infrastructure investments.

I know this is a lot of news, and for the BEV purists, this might be tough to hear. We have a huge opportunity to get more people driving electric – whether that be plug-in hybrid, extended-range electric or pure electric vehicles and our plans set us up to succeed in this mission.

Not everyone wants or needs to tow or drive long distances. Why don’t you make it a option to get a EREV with a generator and a option to get a EV truck without a generator? This would solve everything. Most people who tow heavy loads drive a F250 or a F350 or F550 because of the additional suspension and brake capacity, you already know that. Why are you forcing everyone who wants a all electric full sized truck into the EREV with a generator? I myself will have to get a GM product next time. Forcing customers away is foolish to do. Making options is better for customers. Improve the technology instead of risking losing customers. You have already admitted that the Chinese have better technology. Focus on improving your technology and giving customers more options with your products not restricting your customers with no options.

Agreed. After owning 2 PowerStrokes and 8 different ICE F150s over my lifetime, it looks like my Lightning will be my last Ford if there’s no full sized BEV option.

Legacy automakers are a joke...Not a surprise as Ford and the stealerships want that maintenance money, which EREV will give them. This solidifies the fact that I will not be remotely interested in a Ford for our next car. I am never going back to gas, such an antiquated technology. No thanks.

I agree. Ford made major mistakes with the roll out of the F150 Lightning by forcing dealerships into “Ford’s plan” for only certain dealerships allowed to sell EV’s many dealers did not like that and it caused resentment towards EV from some ford dealers. Ford eventually decided after the dealership’s complaints to abandon its EV restrictions on its dealers but that ruined many sales and created a resentment among some dealership’s employees towards selling their EV’s. I believe that caused ford not to sell as many vehicles as they would’ve if the company had embraced all dealerships fairly. Now Ford has abandoned its EV truck owners by not giving the customers a choice between a EREV and a EV without a gasoline powered generator. Forcing a square peg in a round hole doesn’t work for me. I too will be looking at a GM product or another brand that makes a all electric truck without a gas generator.

Let's be real, the dealerships never intended to promote EV's over ICE sales. Ford's attempt had very little to do with the lack of knowledge on display by most of its dealer network. What Ford needs to do is start doing "pop quizzes" on them and reward the dealerships that are actually trying.

Because Ford isn’t a charity. They’re a business that needs to turn a profit. I wish they would have added the EREV while keeping the BEV version but they weren’t selling enough Lightnings to turn a profit. The business is based on volume and they couldn’t scale up to turn a profit. Hopefully as battery costs come down over time, a full size BEV will be back on the table in the future.

Personally, I wish Ford would have gone the GM route and upsized their battery for towing but I get why they didn’t. The GM trucks are really expensive and not selling great either.
