Just another occurrence of PPO saving the day.

Straight line gusts of over 60 mph wrecked havoc with local power lines and internet is western PA the past few days. We lost power for 48 hours because other damage took precedence.

Mild temperatures meant we only needed sporadic heat along with lights and appliances.

The Lightning performed admirably to the point of keeping the hot tub at 102°F and the beer fridge beside it at 42°F.

Good work, Ford.

That’s nice about the hot tub. Mine’s on a 50A breaker so I can’t run it with the 30A pro power.

I used mine for the first time a week ago. You never know what can happen to cause a power outage. Ours was caused by a car wreck that took a pole down.

I was able to run cords to the fridge and some fans. Also Ran a long one upstairs so the kids could watch TV and have fans on.

Was really awesome to know I had the ability to do it and not have to have the truck running.

I wish Ford didn't fragment the models on this truck so much. Would have loved to have the 7.2kw PPO

You can do quite a lot with the 2.4... The few things I had connected usage was showing 300 watts max.

THe trucks like mine actually have the 2.4 plus the 7.2.. they have two inverters. THe only way to use all 9.6 in conjunction is the FOrd charge station with their home backup system. The 7.2 runs all the bed outlets and the 2.4 runs all the interior outlets including the Frunk.

If I had an outage and needed power I wouldnt hesitate to use as much of the 2.4 I could. I am pretty sure it would be plenty for most anybody that needed power when you didnt have any.

One thing to keep in mind is that the 2.4 inverter is 120V only. No possibility to power 240V loads directly.

I know but in an emergency power is power. 240 is your AC, dryer and stove unless you have gas like I do.. and even with 7.2 you may not be able to run your HVAC without a soft start.

As long as I can save the food in my fridge and have some power to use some things.. Im good.

For sure. I just wanted to mention it because not everyone is aware of it.
