Until I decide what to buy, I have been using a strong plastic bag and some twist ties - it has worked well in snow and ice storms, rain too, but if it is very windy, it can get blown open - doesn't cover the port flap either:

Had my maintainer in the battery bag on the tire for a while before I got an extension SAE cord for it so it could be inside the garage.

2 winters here now charging outdoors in a northern climate and no issues with no cover. Snow just brushes off, and it's already water resistant enough for rain. Freezing rain would be the only concern for me; if that was forecast I'd throw a towel over it. But haven't had to so far.

When I first got the truck I thought I'd epoxy some magnets on the back of the fender and use a magnetic cover, but I haven't felt the need at all.
