Hey all my Lightning peeps! I’m a little bummed that Ford pulled the plug on what has been the best truck I’ve ever owned. That said. Wanted to know how our aging fleet is holding up?! I personally am finding that yet again people’s fears of these amazing trucks early demise is unfounded ( there will be exceptions with some issues and module failures reported) gotta keep in mind that all manufacturers seem to have issues petrol
Or not.
My stats are as follows

2022 F150 bought new
100,350 miles
Frequent DCFC due to long commute to work
Overall SOH 95%
module variance .21%
module voltage delta 0.01
Daily charge set to 80%

Curious to see what my fellow Lightning owners are seeing after the last few years🤙🏼

I’m sure my frequent DCFC sessions have a penalty
Maybe, but these are holding up way better than the experts thought they would. 😊

2025 Ford Lightning Flash Job 2 😭
2025 Flash bought late July 2025
16,400 miles already, it's such a pleasant drive...I can't help but use it
Charge level set to 100% but use a tapered charge so it slows as it fills, usually use at 60-80% except road trips.
SOH 100%
Haven't checked variance in a while but it was negligible, usually get to 100% couple times a month.
Maybe 50 or so DCFCs

Towed for first time this week, range sucked esp for such a small uhaul motorcycle trailer, but not unexpected.

Also slept in the truck with AC running this morning, 2.5 kwh for 4 hrs of comfort, slightly better than expected.

Except for not buying the trim I really wanted, extremely happy so far.

There a way to check SOH with the Mongoose dongle or you need a bluetooth OBD reader and app?

‘23 Lariat delivered November ‘22, 28k miles. Daily charge to 80%, 100% for road trips and lots of DC charges while traveling. Current SOH is still 100%.

I use the car scanner app to read the internal data with a Bluetooth OSB dongle

‘22 Lariat ER 79,521 mi.
Delivered as ordered 11/13/22
More or less equal mix of fast and slow charging to 90%. Not concerned with SOH.
Best truck I’ve ever driven!

2024 Ford Lightning Flash ER
2024 flash, purchased new 11/24. 24k miles, 100% soh, almost never dcfc. Mostly charging at home when I need to I try to drive it a few times per week because I drive a different vehicle to work. 2.4 mi/kwh average to this point.

all in all the best truck I’ve ever owned be that gas or diesel as well. The whole range anxiety thing is lame but I can understand the newbies issue with it. Eventually adding the generator kit whenever that comes available. No real issues other than the ridiculous amount of updates, recalls and strange behavior the truck does with sport mode.
These are gonna be keepers, the other communities for evs, especially the trucks (ct, rivian, gm) aren’t like this. Which is a plus. People will figure these out like my other soon to be partial ev Honda insight. So stick around things will get better than they already are. Cheers!

I think that this truck is going to become coveted in the next year or so. Ford may have pulled the plug prematurely 🤷

2024 Lightning ER Lariat
24 Lariat. 31k miles. Charge at home 99 percent of time. I haven't and don't care to check SOH yet as my mental gyrations and calculations say it's doing fine. I have an OBD device picked out for telemetry purposes just need to pull trigger.

I've had only recall stuff/fixes and a new heated steering wheel. Tire rotations, cabin filters of course.

My only complaints are the floating front end feeling sometimes.

Sure, software is weak and lacking, but it does work. No issues with the updates and none also with the 12v batt.
